A much better way to download files than the normal download manager of Firefox! Its almost like a Bittorrent for the internet!

Yes, its ready for prime time, and is a hands down needed add-on for all firefox users!

What can I say? Excellent all around.

In my opinion, only 2 things missing to be 100% perfect, though this is quite subjective: scheduler and speed limiter.

If you need the source-tab-closing feature you can get the previous version (1.0.4) from http://software-freeware.web.id/download-managers/downthemall-104

installing it over the new one seems to have worked fine for me

I like this add on it is wonderful.

Also, I think everyone agrees that this should be with all Firefox because it is the best.

DTA is an extremely useful addon, and one of the first I install on a new machine.

One of my favourite add-ons.
I simply love it, without DTA I wouldn't have been able to download stuff that strangely didn't appear in the page, though it was there. It saved me many times :D

Thanks for a great and highly efficient downloader.
It would be really handy if it would replicate the site structure as a folder structure. (New user - hope I haven't missed something!)

Version 1.1.0 seems to be missing the ability to use regular expression filters. (Even the check box is gone)

Fortunately you can still get version 1.0.4 at http://code.downthemall.net/releases/downthemall-1.0.4.xpi

Actually you can create regexp filters in 1.1 or use them in fast-filtering.
Just enclose the expression like so:
/expr/
You may even form an expression consisting of different expressions, like so
/expr/,*.ext,/expr2/

Just re-posting a question about whether or not anyone knows how to get the little flashing icon at the bottom back for this plugin. Whenever a flash video from youtube was playing it would pop up at the bottom, but ever since I installed the new version it has disappeared. I'm not sure whether it has anything to do with Downloadhelper either. Even after reinstalling old versions of Dta they still have not returned the icon into the bottom tray of my firefox browser. So now I beg for help! PLEASE HELP.

My experience is that worked fine for files less than 700M but when trying to download files larger than 2GB it choked it every time. I don't know the cutoff size but speed degraded at 1.8GB to a trickle every time to then fail. Resume failed to worked at that point.

awesome! downloading speed has at least doubled with this. unfortunately, for some reason, some files fail to start downloading so I have to use the original download manager, but I can live with that. better than having to use the original, slow download manager all the time.

A really nice addon. Any chance of introducing a speed limiter though?

Great Addon that is nearly perfect to use. Only one thing would make it even better: Did you ever think about an integratet Bandwith-Control?

Needs only one more thing to be perfect. A bandwidth monitor on the bottom that counts the total GB downloaded, and does not reset itself when DTA/Firefox is closed but has a manual reset button.

A lot of broadband users have a monthly bandwidth cap, and this would be helpful to keep track of your usage and avoid getting charged by your ISP for additional bandwidth.
