"It's restoring almost all of my tabs with "New Tab" instead of the actual page, so it's mostly become useless to me."

My problem as well, and now I seem to be getting extra new tabs. For awhile I have to disable this and go back to either TabMixPlus or Firefox session handling.

btw, I don't mind when the tabs are not open (you have to hit the tab to reactivate it) as it probably is saving memory at the time and I can open them as needed.

I plan on trying again in a week or two, as this extension has been a keeper over the years.

Did Firefox crash again and it can't restore the last session? This add on can!
You have to close Firefox but keep/ save all your tabs for later? With this add on it's possible.
The only thing that I recommed is that to set the default sorting order of the sessions to "by date (ASC)" instead of "alphabetic". You can set that via setting > general > display

Like the last review, it used to work a treat.
Now, it just opens pages with the address in the bar but doesn't open the page! I have to open each tab so the page will load.

With 30 or 40 tabes that take a while!

I'll give it a week to update and then it's removed and I'll find something that works.

Shame, it was a great addon. . .

Usability needs improving a lot.

Rename should use a drop down / text box combined to enable you to select existing group (otherwise you end up with Shopping, shops, buying, and purchases in the list.
Delete closes the tools menu but what if you want to delete more than one? You have to load the folder up.
Not really a way to grab multiple sessions and regroup / delete them.
Append to current session could be simplified to "Open in new window".

Should be built in to Firefox as it's extremely useful as is. Reduces the amount of bookmarks you need and allows you to create tasks to do the things you need to in multiple tabs.

*UPDATE:*
All good after reverting to 38.8 (no newer version did work)
=====
Session Manager does not see tabs in windows when trying to save session.

When loading session, only one of (my) two windows loads, second one is empty.

After crash, session (115tabs) has 2.5 thousands of about:blank tabs, which are visible only in the Session Manager itself.

I just wanted to be able to assign some hotkeys for quick save/quick load. This can do that, but I only want ONE backup to be saved and I don't want to be prompted which backup to select. If I choose to discard session on browser close, my hotkeys don't work. Also, you have to be careful which hotkeys you assign, they can't be existing ones used by Firefox or they'll be overridden. There's not too many hotkeys, implementing a blacklist should only take maybe an hour or 2 in total.

Besides from this, it works perfect and i've been using it for years now. Also restores the unsaved session after a crash.
Any idea whether i can regain my lost sessions or not?

I regret that Session Manager, no matter what you do, will not allow you to set "Show my windows and tabs from last time" in the window where you are supposed to be able to do just that. If you do try to select that option, Session Manager will just switch it back to "Show my home page" when you hit "Apply" or "Ok".

As a result, Session Manager will never restore your tabs from last time if you close out of Firefox and come back, such as after a reboot.

I also am finding that, even if you tell Session Manager to make automatic backups of a session state, at some point Session Manager will switch that option to "off," and stop making automatic backups of your session.

Session Manager does not appear to do anything useful.

Essential tool, should be implemented in the browser alongside bookmarks. Easy to use and does what it says. Thanks.

I've had a few crashes while running FF 46.0.1 and restoring the tabs with Session Manager hasn't come up. Then I noticed that the add-on link in Tools(Menu toolbar option) disappeared. All the more after checking to Show my
windows and Tabs from last time in "When FF starts" it didn't work too. I'll be happy if the issue will be solved.

Hello
this problem happens when I load a session using Session Manager. the Session Manager loads the session with the urls on the tabs instead of pages titles.

I say to the developer, I think it is global problem so you do not need log file just try that on your firefox. This is not helping us in navigating using the drop down menu on the tabs bar

also I advice you to remove Double clicking an existing session overwrite that session, because the folowing scenarion could happen :

the session Manager opens in save mode and someone may forget that, and thinks it is in load mode, so he clicks on a session,
and sometimes the mouse double that click by itselfe for something wrong in it,
so that leads to overwrite that existing session and in this case the old session will not come back.

This happened with me.
Else that, it is great addon thank you

It's the thing that I ever needed but I have one question/suggestion. Is there any way to export the sessions to another laptop? I am about to change computers and I wouldn't want to lose my stored sessions in here. If anyone could help me with this, that would be WONDERFUL!
THANKS SO MUCH!

Please, dev, any ideas? :-S. I'm getting desperated here....

@helvete1337
thanks to point out that Unloadtabs is responsible of that problem I had.
I can add that it is though mainly a problem with Firefox because it works well if you downgrade to v40.0.3
so no lose of the URLs of the tab, even if unloaded.
Though Session manager ought to try to fix this. Or Unloadtabs.

Great addon, nice work. I hate it, when Firefox crashes for example right before I can restore the last session, and all is gone.
The only flaw I encountered is, if some tabs are unloaded, maybe with the addon UnloadTab (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/unloadtab/?src=api) the url gets lost. I don't know exactly whether it is caused by that combination of addons, or something else.
Great work though!
