I really love this add on, but ever since I updated Firefox, I am unable to open link in the browser. I have to do this because I can't always look at pages in Thunderbrowse for some unknown reason. It works well for some sites, but it won't let me post responses in Facebook from Thunderbrowse. I think this program needs some tweaks and updating.

I love this add on. It works great except that CS Lite won't work with the newest version of TB, so I can't store cookies which would be really great. I think it is such a great add on, it really saves me time. Now I don't have to wait for the browser to open to see something. I will definitely be sending a donation to the author for this one. Thanks!!

With ThunderBrowse installed and enabled, Thunderbird won't close when shutting down or restarting computer. You are greeted with the Windows 'End Now' screen. Disable ThunderBrowse and Thunderbird shuts down fine. Will the developer investigate this please?

Hmm. Have you completed the wizard? If you have not, ThunderBrowse will claim that it is still running. If you have, then ThunderBrowse shouldn't be the issue. Normally, Thunderbird runs indexing procedures at the end of application, and it could just be the program running the index routine.

Go to about:config and type in extensions.tbrowse.firstime. If the value is true, this means the wizard is not showing up as a window (for some reason) and is hiding behind the main window. If the value is false, then I have no other idea why it would be halting.

Well, I want this to work, but can't get through the install. Maybe its conflicting with one or more other add-ons on my machine?

After downloading the extension, then using the Add-On Install button as instructed, the Add-On screen reports the extension is incompatible with TB3.0.4, but will be updated on restart. Restart button in Thunderbird Add-Ons screen closes Thunderbird but does not restart it. Relaunch of Thunderbird then results in no change in Thunderbrowse Add-On message or status.

Hm... I've seen this issue before. There are three known variations of this bug:

1) The download was not complete - sometime during download/install, a file is malformed or incomplete. The solution is to uninstall the current instance and redownload the addon

2) Thunderbird could not successfully unpack the addon - this is caused when several other files are being updated or installed/uninstalled and a file could not be written to (normally extensions.rdf). The solution is to uninstall, restart and see if it is gone. If it isn't, restart again. If it is still there after two restarts, you'll have to manually edit (while Thunderbird is completely closed [check task manager]) your extensions.rdf or just delete a few key files (xpti.dat, extensions.rdf and compreg.dat).

3) The wizard is hidden (this is extremely rare) - Sometimes the wizard will not show up as a window. I have no idea why this happens, but it just means that the wizard is hiding under the main thunderbird window. The solution is to minimize the main window and see if the wizard is behind it.

I just installed this on a Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit Thunderbird 3.0.4 and it looks fantastic.

I tried all tabbing options and actually like the TB2 setup, it feels like the extra tabs are closer. I hope you won't drop this option in later versions if possible.

This is a very usefull addon, now i can have my google calendar open in a browser, and visit an online database wich contains lots of emailadresses.
Only.... why does not work the passwordmanager? I used an other addon to add passwords of calander and database, but even then i can not log in automatic, have to do it by hand....

Tried to install it twice but it does not install even though it shows Entertaiment

I'm a bit confused by your review. It seems like you are having problems installing addons in general, as it installs on all of my test profiles just fine. Make sure you do not have profile corruption.

Use WAT for every User instead of outdated add-on.
It's too bloated to lift even a little your finger.

Of course It doesn't work fine for Lanikai.

What exactly what was wrong with it in Lanikai? Were pages not rendering or something?

I would not recommend this plugin. The uninstall does not work. Be warned that it does not remove preferences and does not set the preferences back to what they were before installing it. For those of you wanting to uninstall and get external links working again you need to set the following:

network.protocol-handler.external-default
and it's set to true.

I've yet to experience the uninstaller not working. Did you choose to delete all ThunderBrowse preferences?

Frustratingly this addon works fine at what it does. However on many RSS feeds (eg allwallpapersfree) it will open your browser for all the "social" links. So yes, you get the web page in Thunderbird. You also get Firefox opening and loading 2 or 3 extra tabs.
Far, far worse than not having the addon (considering the purpose you get the addon is to avoid Firefox).

ThunderBrowse doesn't support popups so any site with them will most likely open said popups into Firefox. It's one thing I'm planning on working on.

Even after several restarts of TB and following the tips from FAQ this add-on doesn't work :-(

IMHO one star is still too much ...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2.8.1).

What exactly was wrong with it? I use the extension every day and I am not having any problems at all.

You seem to make a lot of reviews stating that "something is broken" but never clarify what issue you had. I do provide support and you could have asked somewhere.

Hello,
I was very pleased with the ThunderBrowse. However I can't watch YouTube videos and I can't download Adobe Flash. Is there a way to get around that? Other than that it was great.

5 stars! I did download this morning and am only using it to specify the browser I want to use to open links. I'm using IE w/ proxy for business and FF w/o privately. IE has to be default browser, so opening links at home never did work. Small thing, but very annoying. You did make my day (and have to suffer from so many 1 stars that did expect your FREE add on to cook coffee). Maybe I'll even pay... ;-)
THANK YOU!

I have used this add on for quite a while, however, after downloading and installing 3.2.7, it seems to be broken. Emails do not display in the message pane. I have to double click and open them in a separate window. It was working fine before. I love the add on, so I hope this is just temporary. When it works, it's 5-star.

I've tried to contact you via the email address you left in the email field for the bug tracker, but I got a bounceback.

I'm not sure what could be causing the problem, so I need you to contact me via the support email listed on this page.

Too cool and useful. Now I can also check my digital voice mail along with my email from one window. Fine under Thunderbird 3.
