It seems to require GnuPG v2. Won't install/work with v1.4.x

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0.1-signed.1-signed).

There is no requirement for v1.4.x -- what exactly was not working with v1.4.x?

In order to perform some tasks, you do need gpgconf installed, which is a part of GnuPG v2 -- however it is not required in order for the core functionality to operate.

If anything other than those functions that require gpgconf did not work for you under GnuPG v1.4, I would like to correct them if possible.

I really like this extension, the one thing that I find it lacking is frame support. I know frames aren't super common today but the webmail service that I use uses them and in order for webpg to function I have to have the textarea or input field in a page of its own. Which, though workable, is very annoying.

The only other thing is that I always need to reload the page to get inline decryption to work. Not sure why it doesn't on the first load but it just displays blank until I reload it.

Just want to end by saying huge thanks for this plugin, after a couple of kinks are worked out it will be fantastic!

Thank you for your comment, I am glad you find it useful.

In response to your comment, I have implemented frame support for the inline parser, and have made improvements to the context-menu methods to better support integration.

I very much want to resolve the issues you have with the application, and ask that you give the latest version a go to see if it addresses your concerns (once it is available for download).

I would also like to do some testing with your specific webmail service - if you could possibly go to http://webpg.org/?view=contact and use one of the available methods to indicate if the latest changes address your issues, and also let me know which webmail provider you are having difficulty with, I will see what I can do to improve the integration.

Because the latest version of webpg-firefox (v0.9.0) is still pending technical review by the Mozilla Add-on reviewers, it is not yet available for download. However I expect the latest version to be available within the next few days.

I couldn't get the preferences to stick, can't even pick which key to use (i did try disabling all my other extensions to see if it was a conflict, but didn't help). It would be great if it worked...

More than likely, the preferences are giving you grief due to an issue interacting with the include modules. I would very much like to address your issues, and ask that you provide more information about your configuration, system and operating system by using one of the available methods of contact listed at http://webpg.org/?view=contact

I look forward to resolving the issues you are seeing.

Works great with gmail and any form based editor.
It seems that HTML is not supported yet
