most of the icons were obscure and didn't exactly match up to the description. There was a back button but not a matching fwd button. There were also very few commonly used icons to choose from.

Thank you for the great buttons. I can the navigation, menu, bookmarks and add-on bars closed, leaving more viewing area on my laptop. Great job!

A very good buttons pack. Anyway there are two things missing that I think everyone would love:
• A search field and/or a sorting feature. There are so many buttons that is very difficult to find the one you're looking for
• A button for toggling private browsing. There is an other extension for this, of course (that currently is not compatible with FF4), but why not to add this button in this pack? This is a very annoying lack of FF that should be fixed
My 2 cents for these improvements

I really do like the overall look of the new icons, ever since I saw them from beta. I didn't like the old buttons design so this is an improvement to me. I'm sad that I can't use them because I chose to use Toolbar Button Maker so I don't have problems finding the icons when customizing the menu.
Yes, the new design needed some getting used to, but that's the part and parcel of change. Initially I had problems finding the right icon for my purpose, but I got used to them eventually.
I'm just happy that this Add-on is updated to be compatible with Firefox 4, because it's got some wonderful functions (eg. the shortcuts to the about:xxx windows, anyone?) Some of the other add-ons I use and love aren't compatible yet, so I'm extra grateful. Plus, I noticed that this add-on got updated to be compatible with each new beta version very quickly, so I would like to express my appreciation.
To those who are about to write a review about how the change is bad and bla bla, take a step back and think. It is a wonderful thing that this add-on was developed and is still being worked on. There is no other add-on with quite the same functions (or the amount of them) as this one, you know?

Can you please add an option for larger toolbar buttons in your next version? That would be very helpful! They seem too small currently. I just want them to be medium sized or large.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1-signed.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.There will be the option with the Custom Toolbar Button Maker in the near future, one of the advantages of the new icon set, they are available in a full range of sizes from 16x16 though to 512x512

I don't think the aesthetics of the toolbar buttons is reason enough to bash the developer. He has legitimate reasons for changing the set (eg-copyright issues) plus he wanted to create his own icon graphics to use in his extension.
Do the buttons work? Yes.
You are critiquing a persons artwork and creativity; a little sensitivity would be nice. I have used this extension for a long time and just came here to download it to a new computer and was very surprised to see all of the negativity.
I liked the old old icons and change is hard. The new ones are a work in progress. If you people giving the 1 star read the description you would see that you can go to the forum to discuss this topic and leave your feedback.
I am sure Michael B works hard on the extension and on the forum he asks if anyone wants to help.
And remember - this extension is FREE; you install it only if you want to
I say "Thanks for making this extension!"
I agree with this post from the forum:

Re: Toolbar Button 1.0 Do you like the look of the New Toolbar Buttons
It's not that your new buttons were -bad-, it's just that the other ones were -really good-! If you're worried about using buttons from other sources, maybe users with exceptional graphics talent could step up to the plate and provide custom sets?
For something you're providing people for free, we should be darn grateful to get what we've gotten. I use your add-ons every day - they're great. Thank you so much! And thank you even more for listening to our feedback, even the less polite ones.

Glad that this has been updated for Firefox 4 RC. This addon does not come with Incredimail. Just checked it.

Seems to work fine here. And for those not too bright to figure it out, this is NOT a toolbar and does not come with incredimail, lol. These are simply buttons which you can drag onto the toolbar. To assume that this would 'freeze' a computer is ludicrous. There are no running processes associated with the buttons to even remotely do that.

I was just about to download and use this extension for the first time. Meanwhile I have glimpsed the disputes here. Although I don't quite get the whole story yet, but I would be inclined to suggest that people give the developer a break about deleting some of the reviews here. From the design of the extension and the web site, I feel that the developer is an earnest contributor. I would suggest that, while negative complaints may still belong here to a certain extent, but we may get better solutions with more positive communications.

You can't stand one bit of negative criticism, so you delete posts which contain it. Don't you think that's a bit childish? Right now, I'm at the "Add a review for Toolbar Buttons" area. My review is: The latest release is inferior to previous releases. I echo the reasons that other reviewers have given. This has nothing to do with bugs. It has everything to do with my opinion. I have to wonder what would happen if someone posted an honest, negative review, but gave you 5 stars. You'd probably leave that one alone, right? Instead of deleting posts which don't offer glowing reviews in a vain attempt to pad your rating, why not accept them and learn from the feedback you receive?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1-signed.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.If it was a proper negative review I would leave it. In fact I would not have I choice, I can flag as many reviews as I like, but I am not the person that hits delete, that is supposed to be done by the site's editors.
And if you care to know, I have deleted plenty of 5 star reviews that were even positive because they don't belong here.

I really liked that plug-in for a while. Nice buttons, easy to spot, easy to use.
WHAT HAPPENED?
I really hate how my browser looks now. I am planning on removing the plug-in. The "bookmarks" button disappeared.
I created this mozilla account ONLY TO write this negative review.
Please give the user the option to select themes and do not remove buttons.
Ps. I am not going further. I am not asking this to the forum. I did enough to say my opinion. You have a million downloads. Show some respect to all those people. We do not complain without a reason.
Thank you
It is not about only asking on the forum, it is about finding solutions there.

This was my absolute favorite add-on. I am really unhappy with the latest update. So many of the icons have changed and are too similar to other buttons. They also are not intuitive so I spend time hovering over each one looking for what I need. I would uninstall it, but there are too many things I need in this add on. Is there a way to roll back to previous version? It would be great if there was an option to use old or new icons.

This add-on has given me good service for years and previously would have merited a score of five stars. But the latest revision has made many of the buttons difficult for me to understand and easy to confuse, one with another. I have tried for almost a fortnight to get used to the new designs but they just do not work for me. Therefore I suggest that intending users should look at the developer's site before committing to this extension, or use it on a trial basis and see how it feels to them.
I am amazed that apparently unfavourable reviews can be deleted at the developer's request. I will have to bear this in mind in future when using this site.
It is not just unfavourable reviews, it has nothing to do with the rating of the review actually, that can be deleted. I can flag any review that I have an issue with for moderation, then an editor gets to decide if going by their guidelines that review should stay or not. Other reviews that I have deleted lots of are of the type "can you add button x" many of which are 5 star reviews. They are just not really that relevant.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out new button's look. I definitely like it and moreover author promises to make more sharp pictures for the big set.Overall, it's nice add-on. Everybody who shitting bricks about changing icons - be more respectful toward author - he does it not for money! All you should do is polite asking for what you want - so, shame on you!

Great add-on, and one I couldn't do without, so 5*.
I'm not keen on some of the new button graphics, although I will (probably) get used to them.

This is one of my favorite addons. Many of the buttons this addon provides are so useful I'm surprised that Firefox still doesn't include buttons of the same functionality by default. And it's an excellent addon for Firefox users who want to save space and do away with the Menu Bar while still having the essential Firefox functions/commands (and more) easily accessible.
And I really like the new icon graphics in the latest version. They're even more attractive than before and several provide significantly improved visual representations of what the button's function is. This is just my personal taste here, but there were little quirks with the way I thought some of the icons looked -- e.g. black and white only icons for the buttons that toggle Java, CSS, Flash, etc. -- and you pretty much improved everything I thought could look a little better.

It was exactly what I was looking for! Makes ThunderBird A LOT better to use!
Thank you so much. Keep it updated! :P

I'm using nearly a dozen buttons and am quite happy with them.
In fact since they can't be dragged to the header pane, I seldom use that pane now thx to this extension.
Two buttons I'd love to have:
* Open in conversation
* Toggle headers (on/off)
Thank you.
