Using QNote, very good.

But when using Dark Mode the Text is unreadable due to white Font on Post-It-yellow ground. That is in the E-Mail Preview List.
Using QNote 0.10.3 on TB 91.1.1 Dark mode.

QNote is a super add-on (XNote++ was also)! Thanks to the author for his work.
But I'm not satisfied that ESC closes the note without saving. The Xnote++ ESC saved and closed the note and it was very practical.

QNote is very useful.
Please update for Thunderbird 91

Thank you.

Thanks! Update is under development already :)

QNote is a great add-on. It is working seamlessly with Thunderbird and the GMail IMAP server. I find it indispensable for, e.g., dealing with quotes and shipment email from Dell. All the email subjects are similar and don't give me enough information. With QNote, I can add the estimated ship date and other information where I can see it without having to open the email. I can also sort by the QNote column (in local mail folders) to get an overview quickly. Because this is such a handy piece of software, I donated!

Thanks for review and donation! Much appreciated :)

This is a great plugin. Have used it ever since xnote wasn't working. Thank you.
I am just wondering if there is a way to export qnote to xnote++.

Unable to use addon - Kept on giving error "Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsIFile.moveTo]" when trying to save note though specified folder is a valid folder on Nextcloud

Wonderful tool for thunderbird. Easy to add follow up note for important email. Works very well.

Please make the hotkey for toggle qnote configurable in preference. Since Alt-q can be used by other addon or other OS features. Thanks!

Works fine, just what I needed!
The reason I gave it 4 stars insted of 5 is that I use QNote in my workplace with my coworker. He is on a different PC and we use the same email account. We can not see each others notes. If there will be an update for this, would be awesome!

You need to use some kind of shared folder for that. E.g. dropbox, windows share or similar.

Been loving this one since the jump to 78 when X-Note++ wasn't working. Switched to this not knowing if I would stay or go back. Now X-Note is updated, but I am sticking with this one. Already here, and it works quite well and seems to be growing with new options. I likes it!

Hi,
Firstly, thank you very much for the develop!
Secondly, I think some options are missing from it:
- possibility of printing the Qnote on the email
- be optional displaying the delete button on the Qnote or ask it once after the click or be a button to undo the delete (because the note delete is too easy)
What do you think?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.3).

I've been thinking about this before:

-Printing together with mail is kinda tricky because note is on separate window and I have no idea how to bring it together with mail. Not sure if TB API would support it.

-Notes are small information and should be easy restored after delete. Not even worth displaying delete confirmation dialog. Hence I do not plan myself to implement undo functionality - way too much work for this, sorry.

Migration as described. Perfect!

My biggest concerns are about permissions which this add-on needs. Could you please explain us why this add-on needs to:
- "See your mail accounts and their folders"
- "Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history"
- "Read your email messages and mark or tag them"
Those points are seen under add-on Permissions.

Thank you!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.3).

"See your mail accounts and their folders"
This is needed to add change folders event listener.

"Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history"
This is needed to export internal storage.

"Read your email messages and mark or tag them"
This is needed to be able to tag messages with note tag and read message-id: header.

Why 3 star?

Hi,

You wrote: "First: back-up your Xnote folder"

Question: Was this supposed to be done BEFORE adding the Qnote add on? Because I added the add-on and then wrote you my query.

Also, I see no way to continue the same thread of inquiry on this platform and I may / will have several follow-up questions. Should I pose those questions here as new reviews or is there a better way to attend to this matter. Thanks so much....

QNote does not alter legacy .xnote files. But it's better to back it up anyway in case of bugs. You can do it now too.

It's better to write to support email to solve issues and leave review area for reviews :)

When you choose to save the QNotes inside of the add-on, whats their path so can I find them by using file exlporer? With XNote++ there was a folder named XNote in the root folder of the profile. But I cannot find the QNotes and when I switch so saving Qnotes in a specific folder, the existing QNotes won't show in TB anymore. So I need to find them to move them manually I guess?

They are storage in TB database or something like that.

Notes does not get converted to folder all at once when you switch storage from internal to folder.

They are saved into folder when you edit them one by one or create a new note.

Somehow it seems to be in conflict with Thunderbird Conversations Add-on. If TB Conversions was installed first, then PopUps do not show up and Alt+Q is not working. If deactivated and activated again, then PopUps do not show up automatically, but Alt+Q works. With TB Conversations deactivated everything works as expected... Thanks!

Hello!

There is some issue with the Conversations add-on. It does something that breaks TB message API. Besides, it removes extension button from message panel.

I think this is very cool addon. I use every day and take more simplify my work.

ERROR: I use Qnote and Quicktext addon together, and it seem that they have conflict. If I use together, quicktext is hidden in every start of TB... Please fix this if you could! (I don't know what is the reason...) UPDATE: in 0.6.2 version was fixed this error. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your efforts. I'll send you my French translation soon.
Only one negative note: QNote is in conflict with the extension QuickText (https://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/addon/quicktext/) that I'm using too. I need to disable QNote if I want QuickText to be enabled when TB starts. But I don't know which extension is responsible...

This (hopefully) is fixed with 0.6.2
