It just doesn't work for more than 2-3 days, then calendar disappears, and does not sync anymore.
I had to remove (unsubscribe) and subscribe again a number of times. I also tried removing the extension and reinstalling it. That way it lasted for a few more days, then again stopped working.

Was working perfectly until about TBird update 78.
After deleting the Google Provider extension and reloading it, all Calendars are available. I am able to book events and these sync with Google Calendar. Invitations to participants can be entered but are not sent and reopening the event shows no invitations entered, So these "disappear"and are not sent. Hope this can be resolved. Using TBird on Windows 10. Thank you!

The add-on works fine ... but since TB 78 I have to de-activate and re-activate it before I can see my calendars. No big thing but tiresome ;).

This might help to pin down the problem many have after Thunderbird 78, where Calendar does not show any any entries until Provider is stopped and restarted (and in so doing changes the order of the Calendars) or until each synchronised Google calendar is hidden and then shown.

My PC has Windows 10 version 20H2 Build 19042.662 and everything else is the latest version available to normal release channels.

If I close Thunderbird before shutting down or rebooting my PC, the problem is there when I start Thunderbird. If I leave Thunderbird running, normal or minimised, when I close down or reboot, the problem is not there, when I open Thunderbird all my calendars are displayed.

This is not affected by having Thunderbird set to run automatically or not on Windows start. Having Thunderbird focus on Calendar or Mail tab when the PC is closed makes no difference.

I would be very glad to hear if others find the same experience.

To add a possible other line of investigation, my laptop has all the same software (installed from the same networked sources) but does not exhibit this non-displaying calendars problem. The only difference I note is that Thunderbird on the laptop has no mail enabled, just the Google calendars. Can anyone suggest what hardware feature might cause this difference between the laptop and the PC?

Since new Thunderbird, I can't see my calendars. It show a blank calendar.

To see it, I must turn off and on again the view (an eye) in my diferent calendars. Then, the blank calendar works.

Was working perfectly until about TBird update 78.
Now, I have the same issue posted by Rob on 11.28; At startup, I have to hide my calendar and then unhide it to see my events. But the previous issue with the calendar not accepting new entries until killing the TBird process and restarting it has been resolved (thankfully).

Provider for Google Calendar stopped syncing with Google Calendar after upgrade to Thunderbird 78.
So, it doesn't do its job, now.
Current configuration:
- Provider for Google Calendar 78.0.1;
- Thunderbird 78.5.1 (32-bit);
- Windows 7 (64 bit).
Please correct.

Since the update to Thunderbird 78.5.0 I have encountered the following issues with the calendar:
- calendars are not shown after a restart of Thunderbird;
- load icon remains when opening an event;
- load icon remains when closing an event;
- invite attendees: invites are not sent or saved;
- repeat > until: end date is not taken into consideration and the event repeats forever.

Still gave five stars as I have used this add-on happily for years, so hopefully the maker will update it soon (or Thunderbird fixes the issues causing the current problems with this add-on).

Works partially. Doesn't synchronize one of my calendars. Is it because it's a shared one?

Works well syncing with Google, but the inability to import invitations makes it all but unusable. Not familiar enough with how this open source works, but it would seem that by now someone would have fixed this so I give it a 2 at this point.

This has been a great add-on but like so many reviews from the last few weeks, the recent release of TB is still causing me problems in spite of me installing the latest version of the add-on. Have to hide/un-hide the calendar most times I load TB to see the events. Not sure if this is TB or the add-on at fault but I do hope it can be fixed.

To temporarily solve the "no writeable calendars are configured for invitations" for me it works to create new boolean entries in the extended prefrences. The names should be
"calendar.google.enableEmailInvitations"
"calendar.google.enableAttendees"
"calendar.google.sendEventNotifications"
All values are true.
Unfortunately this has to be done after every restart.

Potentially great.
But without being able to accept the invitations it is useless for professional use.
I will return to using it when this possibility is reinstated.

Just needed to re-install after firbird update and life goes-on.
I hope Mr. Kewish will keep on updating this add... The day he will be too tired of doing this, we will all cry for such a solution , the only one which connects our google-agenda with firebird... Thank you Mr. Kewish ! GG
