Youtube MP3 Podcaster 3.7.0 with EN-US SeaMonkey 2.33.1 (German Language pack) Gecko/20100101 Build 20150321194901 (Default Theme) on German WIN7 64bit works, but there are 2 annoying bugs what made my finally drop this add-on:
1) If I hear a play list all later download files will have the name of the very first title in the list
2) Rather often my download files get a time / date in December 2009. If I want to collect latest downloads
that is not very useful :-(
So I switched back to a different add-on for this task.
I think at least the playlist bug is fixed in 3.7.5. For the date/time thing.
You're right about the year in the tags though, that's busted. Not sure when I'll get time to fix that one, it means going back and recompiling the tagger.

Used to be great but it now no longer works with Firefox ESR 31.5.0. Emailed the developer around the 6th of March 2015 and no response.

One of the few that let u download a good 256 kbps mp3 without having to go to another webpage. most only give you 128. would be nice to get 320 but cant complain about something that's free. Ive been using this for over a year. It's had its problems but usually if you upgrade your firefox jeremy has it fixed on the newest version. thanks again man.

It took a while to track it down because it's not a feature I use day to day. I should have a patch ready on the site (glimmersoft.com and here at mozilla.org) by the end of the week.

Other add-ons like it work just fine. Best use those.

I've used this app off and on for a year or two and I think it is one of the best out there. Unfortunately, more recently, when I download, it is an empty file with no content other than the name. Today I installed the app on another computer the mp3 download showed up as 0 bites. I downloaded it as mp4 and it worked. I went back to the mp3 file and now it shows 65 MB.
These Microsoft and Firefox updates are a constant headache for everyone. Hopefully, Jeremy won't let them get the better of him while he's working to get the bugs out. :)

Cannot play the mp3 files i downloaded from youtube by none of the players i use(vlc, windows media playewr e.t.c.) is there something wrong with format?

I just updated it to the latest version v.3.6.0 and since then every time I start Firefox, next to my regular start up page the www.glimmersoft.com page comes up on a 2nd. tab.
This is not a bug, but an annoyance and it started with this version. I tried to get rid of it, but you cannot, not even from about:config, or by replacing the Firefox icon on the desktop.
Why would the author want to piss off the users by shoving their website in their faces each time someone starts Firefox?

Doesnt tell you when its finished, so you might as well wait til tomorrow to be sure... This is the authors explanation: "Sorry, it takes a bit of time to make an MP3, and there's no easy way to do the conversion reliably and provide good feedback in the FF UI. I've experimented with using C/C++ libraries and DLLs but found them tough to maintain and unreliable :(". If youre wondering where you can read this, you cant, I got it on mail after my review and acc got deleted. Yet there are many out there that DO give you a message so you dont have to live in oblivion: try "youtube enhancer plus" f.ex. Next to having a better setup and more options, it acutally as mentioned tells you when its work is finished, instead of just telling you the dl is complete despite the file being useless. Not to mention it opens up a window in dos so you can see its working.

Seem to have problems using the nightly release of Firefox, it seems not to be able to find any download links lately.

Seems not to work in latest firefox.

Version 3.3.4 distributed by Mozilla doesn't work on latest firefox. If the latest versions work then they need to be sent to Mozilla for distribution through addons.mozilla.com.

works absolutely perfect, BUT DOWNLOAD NEWEST VERSION (3.4.5) FROM WEBSITE!! Older version (3.3.4) on addons page in ff didn't work for me (ff 31)

Version 3.3.4 from here didn't work with YouTube. Downloaded Version 3.4.4 from the website, followed the drag-and-drop instructions and it worked. I am using Win7. No malware detected yet.
