Don't bother with this or any other search bar plugin.
Instead, install the "Add to Search Bar" add-on by Dr. Evil and you will be able
to add ANY search engine you'll ever come across to your Firefox search bar.
Just right-click in its search field and choose "Add to Search Bar".
Easy as that.

I have just started getting 404 errors with every search I do with this add-on.
This is a new thing as it did work well before today
Will try with HTTPS Disabled thanks to another reviewer.

I don't know for how long I have been using this, must have been quite a few years and I cannot live without it. In fact this is the first or one of the first add-ons I install after getting a new computer. I got a new computer for work and I am still setting it up and now again this is the first search tool I am installing. I tried to find it in Firefox add-on page but couldn't find it and I was dismayed because I thought I lost it. Finally I Googled for "google image searchbar" and there it is, my good ol' reliable image search tool :)
I am loving it!

I thought the plugin had broken -- turns out it just currently conflicts with HTTPS-Everywhere. If you use both, you have to disable HTTPS-Everywhere for Google Images.

Great add-on. I'm a graphic designer, and my google search is mainly images, so it helped me a lot. This made image research very easy and fast. Works perfectly. Thumbs up!

Although I find Google itself stinky this alternate search for the pictures is good.

Really like this addon. 5 stars for how long I've used it and how satisfied I am. However, I have the same glitch as the last guy. Suddenly it fails to function. Upon pressing the enter key, little loading box appears in the status bar nothing happens.. for a fraction of a second and it says done; but no google images.

It stopped working for me recently .. will there be an update? Not sure if it stopped working because Google changed the way their image search works but what ever the reason .. I loved this add-on and want it to work again!

The plugin Searchbar Autosizer will screw with your search settings if you have the "revert to default" option enabled - don't enable it.
This plugin works fine, but I don't like the icon and I want the old image format, so I'm not using this.

Works perfectly. Even the auto-completion works.
The only minor annoyance is that the G icon is cut a bit at the bottom.

Good job.
I´m experiment with this add, if you put this parameter in your xml file <Param name="sout" value="1"/> you convert the google images search in basic mode and solve my problem with the new interface. I´m disapointed of the new interface of google images.
Sorry for my english.

It works well. I'm using it together with DragToGo and it's exactly what I needed.

This is handy when used with the Context Search addon. I am able to highlight a word and get associated Google Images in one right-click.

works very well with context search

Simply use "Add to Search Bar" for full customization, to be not bound to red G, or use Stylish for furthermore...
In short this addon is NOT needed...

Nice one! I was getting tired of searching using the Google search engine and then having to click on the Image search option on the Google search site and I wondered if there was something to add to the list of search engines in Firefox that would give me a Google image search, had a quick search for an addon and found this.... sorted! thanks very much that's just the ticket Gromit! :)
