Fantastic dictionary, but anyone with complaints about it lacking American words like "movie" need to understand that many words like that are actually slang terms that have eeked their way into common usage.
For those of us who use "English" English, it's a solid dictionary, and if you do want common-use slang terms, you can always add them to the dictionary.

This dictionary does not install with FF 2.0.0.17 as it appears to be corrupt ("invalid file hash"). Can someone sort it out please?

Okay this had gone too far, alright some modern words aren't in the dictionary, but "movie"??! Oh come on, you got to be kidding me! Compared to the US English dictionary this is a early 20th century book written by pompous lords who see all modern words unfit for the the English language. An outdated dictionary by far, sorry.

It does what a dictionary does, no problem on that, but modern words included in the dictionary is a bit short, isn't it?
Even words like "screenshot", "MMORPG" aren't in the dictionary. I have to spend half the day just to add words as acceptable to the dictionary. This is the 21st century, people don't say "Jolly marvellous, my good humble chap!" any more. PCs are racing faster than human brains, but half the technical words aren't in the dictionary, can there be something be done about it? Other than that, one of the best add-ons I ever installed on Firefox, good gracious, what a jolly brilliant item you have created my good man!

My goodness man, this dictionary is the epitome of what a good dictionary should be. I shall recommend this to my good friend Lord Henry and even my butler, Parker over afternoon tea. :D

I can't get it to work with v3.0.7 on linux. When I right-click in a text area (e.g., the one I'm typing this into), all I get under Languages is "English/United States". Is my installation faulty?

Is this a dictionary or a spell checker? If it is a dictionary how, does one look up a word?

Fantastic job! I use this and the US one interchangeably. My only criticism is it does need an update, other than that it is perfect and does the job well, top marks and thank you Mr Tyndall.

Great Application.
Just wondering if you have a version that will work/install on 3.0b3pre. Thanks.

16 Feb 09: 1.19 could not be installed ... not compatible with Thunderbird 2.0.0.19... only versions 2.0a1 to 2.0b1
17 Feb 09: add this temporarily to your TB options: boolean, extensions.checkCompatability -> false and you can Brit to your hearts content.

I am worried about the quality of some of the reviews given in regard to this add-on. People must understand that it takes time to update add-ons to the newest version of Firefox. Down voting it because the maintainer (who does it fore free) has yet to update it, is in all fairness, pathetic.
Thank you Mark Tyndall for maintaining what I can only describe and a brilliant add-on. It's a shame that certain people do not appreciate the effort you put into developing it.

@Jonathan: It works fine for me, no problems, im using version 3.0.6 too.
You might want to consider reinstalling Firefox to see if that solves your problem, or it could be an addon yove downloaded causing a conflict :P
Anyway, its a nice simple addon. :)
