Rating it high, because it looks like it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Does not work for me...my fault. Didn't read carefully enough.
I need for something to sync LIGHTNING tasks...to Google or Outloook, so I acn sync with tablets and phones. Haven't been able to use lightning for 3 years because nobody has created a link, except to Toodlldo...and NOT adding another web app account. Google tasks is a toy, and missing key functions.

Excellent add-on. Ties in perfectly with Lightning to put mail, calendar and tasks conveniently all in one place. I'll second the request for a "clear completed tasks" button/shortcut. Thanks.

Love this add-on. Thank you. I applied the "moonwell fix" to the date issue. However, when I have a task with a due date showing in Thunderbird and I just click on it to edit, the due date changes to one day earlier. Every time I click and edit, the due date gets moved up by one day. Any fix for that?

Thank you very much for this great app. One question: how can I have the date displayed in local (Dutch) format, i.e. day-month, which is the same format Thunderbird uses?

Extremely long awaited addon for Thunderbird. First impression was really good. I think i've a bug. I own a GTasks list with 26 Tasks and this Addon is shows me only 17, i've tried to sync several times and restarted thunderbird, no luck. But nevertheless i want to thank you very much for this addons.

Installed and tasks were a day off. Moonwell's fix worked fine.

Great extension, adding some much needed task functionality!

I also experienced the problem with the date being shown incorrectly. This is due to timezones, and the fix is quite simple. Just edit the chrome/content/interface_functions.js file lines 196 & 197. Replace getDate() and getMonth() with getUTCDate() and getUTCMonth(). Fixed based on version 0.3.1

At last I can now access/manage Google tasks in Thunderbird. I've been waiting a long time for this! No list management yet (hopefully this will be added in a future update), but seems to work as expected.

Provider for google canlender author is composing to add Task function. Pls consider how this will go on ? if it can be integrated with Lightning's task , that will be great .

This is a great and very promising add-on. I've just tried it and, after allowing Thunderbird to accept cookies, it works. However, I'm seeing a strange bug when synchronizing tasks with Google: the date of the task on TB and on Google differ by 1 day. So if I set a due date for a task on Google on December 18th, that same task shows the due date as December 17th on Thunderbird. The due date for any task on Google is always 1 day after than the date that I see on TB. It doesn't matter if I create the task on Thunderbird or on Google, the due dates always differ by 1 day. Quite strange, but hopefully easily correctable.

I installed this add-on on my PC at home (Windows 7 64 b), where it doesn't work: i.e. the add-on panel appears in Lightning; upon clicking it requires identification, after that a web page appears (KAMPP) that has nothing to do with it; after closing that web page, the add-on starts syncing and stalls there forever. I also installed it at work, on a Windows XP 32 b machine, and it works like charm. Is there anything I can do to have it work on W 7 64?

Make sure you're not running a very old version of TB, then try creating a new Thunderbird profile and testing the add-on there. This will tell if a conflict with some other add-on or setting is the culprit.

I've been waiting for this for years... literally!
Thank you... but it is missing some important features like List management (create, delete, rename), move tasks to specific List, sort tasks, ident/unident.
Hopefully this useful addon will evolve or even better, its' features will be included into the latest versions of Lightning.

Sorting tasks and indenting them is already possible; use the drop-down menu next to the sync button.

Managing task lists and moving tasks between them will be added at some point in the future. This add-on aims to offer the same functionality as Google's web interface, so anything functionality present there can be expected to eventually appear in the add-on.

Thanks so much Tomasz for writing this add-on; I have been waiting for a Google Tasks Sync for literally years.

I can confirm that it works perfectly with Thunderbird 17 / Lightning 1.9.

Thanks so much for helping out. Thanks to this app I am able to sync my tasks on Google with TB, iphone and the Ipad and all of them carry the same set of tasks.
