As most of you, I friggin' LOVE this add-on, and was pretty bummed-out when it dropped when I upgraded. There is a fix out there but it takes some time to do, so I've hosted the final file here:

(Copy and Paste into your browser)

Once downloaded, extract the ".XSI" file and just drag and drop it in the "Add Ons" window and badda-boom, you're in business! Enjoy~!

Very useful. I'd love an option to show only the tray icon and nothing on the taskbar even when not minimized.

Note: The following can be done with any addon

You can update this by installing this by a browser that doesn't know what to do with .xpi or .jar file. (The best are Internet Explorer and Safari.) After you have done that open the file (I used winrar). Use text editor, if you are using a PC, and edit the line where it says 2.0.0.* or something similar to that and replace version number with 3.0.3. or what version of Firefox you are using. Drag the .xpi or .jar file to your Firefox addons windows and voila. You're done. If you don't get the normal "Are you sure you want to download this addon" window, try installing an earlier version of Firefox.

This add on can be used in higher version of firefox and thunderbird after being made a little modification as "So, I tried to find how to tell to Thunderbird 3 to accept it. It’s in install.rdf in the xpi archive. The only thing you have to do is to seek for and then replace the 2 in the section by 3.0a2pre. So the package is there, and it works almost perfectly for me (where “almost” means “since you don’t try to run the old Thunderbird”)."

This is such a SWEEEEET add-on, since I've recently transitioned from Pegasus Mail to TB.

Now if only the icon would dance or something when new mail arrives...?

Back when I used Windows (a few months ago), I considered this an essential component of Sunbird. I was very surprised to read that it isn't implemented for Linux. However, I just learned the reason: Linux has the same thing for any application - AllTray:

Does andybody know when a new version appears ? It´s a very useful addon but it doesn´t work @ Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 and @ Firefox 3.0.3 :-(

Works great normally but continues to consume heavy RAM even when minimized.

Please update to work with newest version of Thunderbird

Outstanding, but I need a version that's compatible with Sunbird 0.9 and on.
