Crash Problem for me too. I use this extension almost in every single mail. Hopefully you will be able to eliminate this hitch very quickly.

I really hope the developers are going to fix this as QuickText is such a great tool!
Do we have to uninstall and reinstall to go back to the previous version or is there an easier way to do that?

I LOVE this add-on, but it's DOA w/ TB 17.0. TB crashes when entering a subject into the new message window. :( Uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktext did not fix the problem.
I notice that the dev offers a "pro" version for 9 Euros, but doesn't indicate if that version is getting updates. Anybody try that one?

Upgraded to TB 16.0.1 and QT stopped :( Only when you lose such a useful program do you fully realize its true time saving value. Never contributed before but will do so now. Oh yes, and got it to work again by uninstalling and reinstalling QT. And will not update TB until I know that future updates will support QT.

This addon is very cool, but...
On TB 17 beta QuickText, because of which you create a new message, the program closes with an error.

Just today, there was a new version of Thunderbird, Version 17.0. For a while, the new version failed to do any of the following:
1. Send new emails
2. Reply to emails
3 Forward emails
I guess it would not do anything at all. It crashed every time.
This unsatisfactory situation lasted for a while until I disabled Quicktext Version 0.9.11.1 and everything returned to normal.
Now I found Quicktext a very useful add-on and I was disappointed to find out that it does not work any more.
I would urge the developer, WizKid, to see if he/she could restore operation soon. I, and many other users, will appreciate it.

I'll give it a 5 star as it appears to do exactly what I want.
I have to write out a lot of repetitive emails and currently have a template setup and copy pasta the contents etc etc. So this is really beneficial to me.
One bug - which I'd be grateful for some feedback on - when you use the Alt+number keyboard shortcuts. It adds in the relevant text but also adds on the ASCII code for that combination to the end ((alt+1) smiley face, (alt+3) heart shape etc)
Any ideas?

has started to crash in 18.x nightly.
also in 14.x + you can not add cursor position.

0.9.11.1 is working well on 13.0.1.

Dude, when we can expect updates? Your add-on is really good, excellent. But I ma holding TB update for quite a long. It is always your add-on the last updated. Please continue your excellent work, we need you! Now it is TB 12.x, please update it, I count on you.

A nice and useful add-on which unfortunately has a very annoying bug with the latest Thunderbird (10 on) whenever the text insert is used it copies that same text to the email subject and if you forget that you send emails with odd subjects!!
Its a pity this seems not to be supported anymore (no updates since last year) as without this nasty bug it would be great.
Impossible to answer if this is a bug without knowing what your template looks like. Please use the support form on extensions.hesslow.se and tell me more about your problem

A plugin like this is essential for my daily Thunderbird usage. I can save a template or a peace of content that otherwise i would be ape shit mad of typing it 100 of times.
Templates like my back account details, or my address, my contact details.
I even have a special template for those South African bank account transfer scams :D.
Great plugin and the only thing that could improve it is the interface.

I can't speak more highly of Quicktext. This add-on has saved me so much time replying to repetitious emails, it's fantastic!
