After some research, I found what corresponds to the "sidebar for all that" : Chrome embeds an Emoji popup which is displayed by pressing the Windows key + the ". " key

It may be useful for others than me ;)

Too bad this add-on is no longer updated because I have not found an equivalent in ThunderBird ...

Too bad also that the last message indicating that Chrome now has a sidebar for all that : of which sidebar precisely?
