I used to use 'minimize to system tray' before, but this time I would like to try this one, and I like this feature, because I don't like the thunderbird is actived in system task bar.

thanks

Useful ;-)

Running the extension under Tb 10.0.2 via Ubuntu 11.10 I have found that I could not right click messages with a view to copying part of their text. There was no reaction to the right click. I removed this addon and the right click came back.

Great work with FF10 :-)

If you put the shortcut of Thunderbird in the Startup folder you get the same thing. I have tried yesterday and works perfectly.

Please make an option to minimize it in system trays and also thunderbird starts when windows starts up.

hey,
can you put the minimum delay on start-up to 0? i dont want to see the window starting, just want it to start in tray directly.
apart from that working well.

This plug-in stopped working with FF 8.0 Please fix as it's one of my best extensions with Windows 7.

Firefox is not Chrome, so it can be pretty slow to startup everytime you want to use the browser. I tend to close unnecessary windows to avoid clutter, so I use All+F4 all the time. That means Firefox always has to undertake a hefty bootup.
With this gadget and Windows 7, it doesn't have to, since it merely gets minimized into the taskbar, from where it is only a click (or Alt+Tab) away, when I need it.
Simple and effective. And absolutely a must for me and my Firefox :)

Seems helpful, but in most cases for me this extensions completely block right mouse button behaviour - context menu even not appeared!

It doesn't quite do what it supposed to be doing. I want Thunderbird to start minimized. Every time I boot up I see the Thunderbird window appear for a fraction of a sec than minimized. Really annoying. MinimizeToTray in old TB used to start the program minimized.

This works for me when installed concurrently with MinimizeToTray Revived 0.9.4. Thanks so much!!

Excellent but can't use with thunderbird 5
Please make it compatible with 5 and future versions

Locutus

The Add-On should now be compatible (and working) with all current versions of FF and TB! I'm working on an updated version with most of the requested features.

This add-on worked properly under Thunderbird 5.0 when installed concurrently with the *new* "MinimizeToTray revived (MiniTrayR)" 0.9.4, [and Add-on Compatibility Reporter]. I tried to use my prior tray minimization add-on, "MinimizeToTray Plus 1.0.8" and that caused this add-on to fail, it also failed with this add-on disabled. {Using Tbird 5.0 on Win XP}

This is a great addon, once you get used to it there's no turning back.

Please make it thunderbird 5 compatible!

Working great on Ubuntu 11.04. 100ms in settings and in System Settings->Startup Applications make sure that you have Thunderbird (Name: Thunderbird, Command: thunderbird, Comment: Thunderbird).Makes powerfull combination with "Unity unread count and quick list" (also extension for thunderbird). That way I don't need it in tray. I also added Thunderbird Indicator 1.1 add-on (it's optional) and installed standalone app "mail notification" for sound (with poups disabled in it's options)

Reading the last few reviews I was skeptical, but everything works as designed. Minimize on Close works with my configuration that uses no menu bar. I am also using the "Movable Firefox Button" extension without issues. While some requested only certain windows (i.e. homepages, App Tabs) stay open, I prefer to keep everything I am working on open. This would be a nice "option" but please do not make it a standard. Using FF 4.0.1.
