This worked great to import some old sent emails that I had lost when I switched over to Gmail from two other email servers that I had deleted after the switch. It brought in all the emails from the deleted servers Mail > Sent folders lickity split and dumped it all into a new Sent folder, then I could move it all over to a Old Sent folder for future reference.
Thanks to all who created this Add-On!

ImportExportTools

ImportExportTools are very helpful for saving Mails like a backup. Selecting files or directories helps saving diskspace and overview. I missed them, since the last update from Thunderbird and would like to use them further.
This tool is a very important and useful development.
Many thanks to the developer

4 stars because it worked for the minimal thing I needed it for, and that was to export individual folders from my account to somewhat a mirrored folder on my hard drive. It's a little quirky and I had to play around with it a bit to see what the limitations of what this freebie could do in order to make that happen. I did run in to the complications of subdirectories not being created just from exporting a main one. I still had to select all, and then sort each in to the main directories all created in a single folder. Maybe I didn't understand how some specific setting worked, but I was able to do enough that I feel kosher with the end product. I did only do exporting as .eml though and each directory does create an html file as somewhat a more viewable table of the messages in the directories. I just click on a hyperlink and the message is opened in my default program. When saving to this format, attachments are saved also in the original message too. When trying to specifically export folders by the way, just a blank file gets created in your chosen folder... I have no idea on any other workings though because I don't need those, but it seems like some people are having other complications according to the previous comments.

Thanks for the fine tools.
Improvement idea: Have you thought about replacing the default drag&drop of messages (saves them as eml-files but without customizabel filename) by your "Save selected messages -> as eml-files".

This module is very practical. Thank you so much.
Is it possible to integrate a button in the toolbar of tb to launch for example the function "export format eml"?

The "Export" tool saves *EVERYTHING*, including my IMAP directories. I can retrieve my IMAP mail from the host server if I ever needed to recreate it. All I want to save are my settings, not the whole entirety of IMAP messages.

program working incorrectly, for example by exporting email to CSV it truncate recepient email in random position. Is this a hard task to find ";" - a marker of recipient email end field?

It DOES the JOB for FREE!! After searching a lot for a bulk eml importer I found this!!! It is the only free out there. You can import a directory with eml files and then use them wherever you want (GMAIL, OUTLOOK)...

One of my favorite add-on extensions. I can take thousands of bounceback files, export to a single txt file and use my systems to analyze to generate an email list for no-sending in future. Saves me hours of work.

Works great!!!
Got hung up when imprting a "really large" folder+subfolders, but that is okay. Just did it piecemeal. No problems.
Feedback for developer:
When Windows Live Mail exports eml files it stores a wlmail.fol file in each folder. Would recommend that the add-on reads this wlmail.fol (binary file containing actual folder name) to set the folder name instead of using the WLM-truncated folder name. I wrote a little perl script to rename the folders based on the wlmail.fol files. Would be nice if ImportExportTools supported this natively.
Donated... Appreciate having the tool.

Importing .mbox file but nothing happens...
Ready to make it 5 stars but some assistance would be required since it simply doesn't do anything...
Tried to understand if the Thunderbird version was wrong:
I have version 60.6.1 maybe your add-on doesn't work on this version of TB?

Import the folders as mbox files not working.
Tools -> ImportExportTools -> Import mbox file -> Import directly one or more mbox files.
File is imported, but message are not displayed. In interface Thunderbird importing folder in Local Folders (account) is empty.

Being able to quickly export and import a profile is very useful for me as I rebuild some machines from time to time and my multiple email accounts are setup in an instant using this tool.

Actually it is a great way how to export and store your SMS messages when you don't want to upload on cloud. Very well done!
