Thank you very much for fixing this bug, whoever did this to Firefox should be fired.

Very needed extension. Fixes bug, which is considered for some reason to be "feature" by Mozilla.

I have no clue why FireFox thinks that the current method of displaying images is a good one. It's bizarre. Thank you for this bug fix that the build team seem to be unwilling or unable to do.

Works as described and fixes what Mozilla has RUINED in the latest feature update. Thanks much for this, I will be using this forever.

I agree w/Paul, very essential. It was troubling to see my Google images showing up in the center of the webpage, and not knowing how to change it.

Essential. Without this you'd be unable to view images containing transparency.

this add-on does a great job reversing FF's latest mistake..

This has to be one of the most ridiculous changes in Firefox, ever. Does Mozilla have *nothing* better to work on? What was the need to break something that was working absolutely fine? Even if something needed to be 'fixed', why not provide an about:config entry for it?
This add-on should not have been required AT ALL, and as mentioned by others, I am not at all happy to have to add more bloat to undo Mozilla's bone-headed and ill-considered decisions.
That said, I rate this add-on a perfect 5/5 for doing *exactly* what it says, and thank the developer for undoing what some idiot at Mozilla came up with.

I didn't like the dark gray background that by default was added to Firefox 11. I did however love the centering effect. With this addon I can change the color to a neutral grey and still keep the image centered. Thank you so much!

Works as expected, thanks a lot!

YEAY! Yet another Undo Addon cluttering up my extensions list. Why have we forsaken about:config? FYI, centering totally breaks the internet. Not everyone uses full-screen view, some of us bring multiple windows open and overlap them just right to view multiple reference images. Now I have to size these windows, too, to get rid of the gray! GAH!

This useful tweak should of course not have been necessary. It reminds me of Ye Olde Dayes (mid-1990s) before style sheets etc, when A Browser unilaterally decided to use a grey background instead of white for general web pages (or was it the other way around??)
In this present situation, I have hundreds of images of *objects* photographed against a white background, often tightly cropped to save file space. The 'off-black' background now unilaterally applied makes a complete travesty of simple display of these items. (The centring is less of a problem.)
In general, display of 'an image' on a web page is not the same as the display of a video (which is pretty much a self-contained object in itself). Presumably the Firefox people were thinking only of a framed 'photo album' approach... But then, why not use a proper black?
Not thought through, not thought through...

Registered just to thank you for making this addon! Thank you very much!!! The change of the background was completely unnecessary.

This is an absolutely perfect and essential add-on that shouldn't have to exist: because the geniuses at Firefox shouldn't have made such a bone-headed move in the first place and then having done so they should have allowed the user to turn it off.
At first I thought it was a website I was viewing pictures on that had done this, then I saw it was Firefox and I IMMEDIATELY looked for a solution.
Plus, you require no restart either. I'd like to buy you a cup of coffee or a beer. Whichever you prefer. And if you can't decide I'll buy you both.

Thanks for this. Firefox once again shot itself in the foot with a completely random and ill-thought UI change. >_>

Thanks to the "add on" I'm saved! But here's another reason why "centering all images" and "adding a background color" - while "aesthetically nice," RUINS the point of web-hosting images without any adornments: With the background color added and the image centered - you CANNOT hold down the left button on your mouse and copy and paste the image into an e-mail or into an online HTML composer like what you would use, for example, when you sell something at eBay. Crazy!

The change without the ability to revert, or even change color code obnoxious. I really like Firefox and prefer it over every other browser. Still, I can't hope understand where the logic behind this choice came from. This thing fixes everything, though. Without this add-on, I'd be searching for a different browser as Firefox-like as possible. Perhaps it's over dramatic, but I would've been very sad to do so. I hope they don't break it again, I don't like being afraid of Firefox developer decisions.

The new look is terrible, seriously don't fix something that's not fcking broken. The grey background destroys any "transparent" pictures such as this:

terrible.

Got Firefox 11 today. Found this add-on less than 15 minutes later. Does exactly what I expected from Firefox and was unable to do in about:config.
When I open an image directly, I expect to see a non-styled page with just the image, so as to differentiate it from the website it is hosted on. The new behavior made that impossible and therefore this add-on a must-have for me.
