Great addon, would be awesome to see it upgraded to the new Thunderbird addons.

I gave this top rating just alone for exporting a folder to html with attachments. This aproach is exactly what I have done manually before but laziness prevents me from doing it more often.
A few wishes:
I would like if the time Preifx in the file names for the exported Mails would not only reflect the day but also the time e.g:
20180104_1300 (for arrival at 13:00)
Also I would rather like the unique number at the beginning of the file name eg:
20180104_1300-1
This prefix could then also be used as foldername for attachments belonging to the corresponding mail.

for years, i searched for a thunderbird extension that exports emails massively into a friendlier format than eml. Very thanks to devs, i love this module.

Extremely useful tool, especially in combination with RSS messages. Two additiona would be nice: support for export to pdf format on Macintosh and support of A4 format paper while converting to pdf on PC. These are missing.

This is an extremely useful tool. Would it be possible to integrate it into the mail-filters menu, so that emails could be backed up automatically based on mail-filter criteria?

This is one of my intregal routines to organizing my email if I lost it I would only become more disorderly in my life. I love the option of export html and pdf (note you lose the attachments of the email with this method).

Exactly what I needed, thanks!
I've been running the same Microsoft email database on my Macs since Outlook Express 4.0, and it's grown to over 10GB with multiple folders of messages. I stayed with Microsoft email clients so I could keep my full email history, but they're prone to database corruption and it was frustrating having to restore from backups and re-download new messages. So I exported from Entourage to a .rge container (just a fancy folder of .mbox files) and with this add-on I was able to quickly and easily re-import everything into the subdirectory layout I had before. Now Thunderbird has my full message history, yay!

I just finished testing this, and exported into eml, html, and pdf. As well, I tested the export search tool, where I was able to only export emails prior to a certain date. All formats came out great. It was quick and simple to use.
A 'nice to have' would be if (somehow) the pdf export would include attachments... eml and html both include attachments. eml includes it in the eml file, which is as expected. html creates an index.html file and a folder storing the attachments and emails. Links in the html file open the email, then links in the emails open the attachments.
I was looking for this to reduce the disk space used on my hosting account at Hostgator (to keep my costs down) and manage my staff archive and older emails offline. I need multiple backups and need to keep in case of future liability issues that may arise. This is a very helpful tool.

Since it's impossible to comment a review I add this non-standard entry...
Author, Adom Pascal of "forgot" to tell us that his "review" is an advertisement of paid product...
BTW: My rating refers to the product of Paolo "Kaosmos", not to above mentioned ad ;-)
Paolo is well known, experienced and respectable programmer. I appreciate his products very much.
Thank you, Paolo!

One of the best tools I have found for importing and exporting emails to/from Thunderbird.
I have found one small issue and hopefully it is an easy fix. When I highlight multiple folders and select Export all messages in folder > EML format. If I don't have every folder expanded, it skips folders underneath. If this is the intended behavior, fine - but I would prefer not to have to expand and select every folder and would expect that if I highlighted the parent folder I would want the folders under it as well.
Thanks and keep up the good work! I will be donating to this one!

I used this tool for importing five EML files into my mailbox. This worked fine. It imports them into the currently open folder.
I wished it would mark them somehow (unread, starred, or tagged) to enable me to find them within the hundreds of already present messages in that folder.

I had 2 issues which were gone when I removed this add-on:
1) When I empty a folder Next and Previous do not work.
2) When I make a filter the list with recent folders keeps empty.

Love it but needs improvements.
Cancellable progress dialog box so we know lengthy operation is in progress.
Report, saved to the root directory, that tells the user of successes, file count, errors so they know what to look for eg I was warned that an attachment file couldn't be found.
When exporting as html with attachments i noticed that only the root folder was saved. The whole tree structure should be saved. I love the html index file, that was great.
