This addon is useless since i only have to right
click on the global trash icon on the left pane,
& click on "empty trash" which does the same job .. . With: 2 actions.

While this addon does it as well with 2 actions,
clicking on its icon & selecting the empty trash option.

Which is why a seperate or 2 seperate icons
from the custom toolbars would help without
having to click twice but only once on that icon.

A second Tab with the same icon but without drop down options,
and slightly smaller, named: " Empty Trash" that would do this:
Ctrl+Shift+Delete

Thanks for the feedback, and you make a fair point for a single-account setup.
The add-on is mainly useful for users with multiple accounts, where Trash/Junk cleanup is spread across several account folders. In that case, the add-on can clean all matching folders in one action instead of repeating the same operation account by account.
About dedicated one-click toolbar buttons: I agree they would be better UX.
At the moment, Thunderbird has API limitations for extensions in this area. I previously tested an experimental/custom-toolbar approach, but it is not stable enough for a standard release and long-term maintenance, so I currently use only officially supported extension APIs.
These same Thunderbird API limitations/changes are also one of the reasons older add-ons like Xpunge are no longer working as they did before.
I’m still tracking your request, and if Thunderbird exposes a stable API for direct toolbar buttons, I plan to add one-click actions (for example “Empty Trash” and “Empty Junk”).

Thanks again for the suggestion, it is very useful.

I don't get it, i don't see why a second icon could be an issue if you already suppoort the main one, over time..
& i have multiple accounts.

Axctually ? No.. you still have the first action: 1. clicking on your icon 2. selecting what you want.

Just like the general trash icon, 1. right click 2. empty trash

while an empty trash button on the toolbar without right click would be of a real interest
compared to what tb already does .. .
