...because I love your add-on. Perhaps I will donate again. Here is a non-monetary contribution:I, too, had some problems...with either the new Firefox or the 2.0.7...but that was not the problem. It turns out there is a conflict between the add-on 'Freecorder 7.0.0.7' and FireFTP...when I disable the Freecorder all is well and my beloved FireFTP works fine (with all account info etc).I hope this helps some of those who have had problems...at least for me it was an add-on conflict. Thanks again for a wonderful add-on.

I have been using fireftp for about 5 years now. I have loved it since I first installed it.

The Plugin is Great, but you have to use the old (2.05) version and turn off automatic updates in the extension within firefox. Otherwise it will roll forward to 2.07 and it will not work. 2.06 does not work either. If the developer will fix this --- 6 stars (when it works it is too good for 5).

Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.0.7.1-signed).

Sorry that you've run into this issue. The new version of FireFTP is doing migration of an old account format to a new one. Unfortunately, there are some illegal characters that make it difficult to upgrade to the new format that Mozilla now requires. (specifically, the combination of trying to convert international characters and the '%' character creates problems).

If 2.0.7 isn't working for you, you can try the following:
- find your profile folder, here are instructions: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data (if you're on a Mac it'll be under: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles)
- find the file in your profile folder called fireFTPsites.dat
- remove the '%' characters found in the file.
- install version 2.0.7 and readd the % characters back in later as needed. (not directly into the file, but via the regular FireFTP interface).

The same applies for the files you're trying to import. If you have further issues, email me mimecuvalo@gmail.com and I'll help further.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience,

Now, when you helped me, I can say with a clear conscience, that your plugin is perfect! Thank you! Sorry for the jump to conclusions.
I'm leaving my old comment and your response for the others.

[Lack of polish symbols makes that plugin a trush. All folders which contain polish letters can't be opened...]

Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.0.7.1-signed).

Polish symbols do work. You might have to change the encoding you are working with to download the file. Go to Account Manager->Advanced->Server Encoding and perhaps try West European->Western (ISO-8859-1) or whatever region the server might be located in (e.g. Chinese servers tend to use East Asian->Chinese Simplified (GB18030))

I am not happy AT ALL with the new version. I have NO %'s in my file or any other characters.
All I get is a BLANK when I start up FireFTP and it will not let me even edit or add any connections.
I used to love this simple program and recommended it to people BECAUSE it was simple to understand and use.
Now, it is broken and unusable in this form.
I even did the reset, completely reinstalled AND tried to go back to 2.0.5.
Upgrading is FINE if you need to, but I truly hate programs that take that choice away from me and just does it when everything was working fine.

Hello JD,
Sorry to hear the basic solution didn't work for you. If you'd like you can send me the fireFTPsites.dat file and I will manually fix it for you: mimecuvalo@gmail.com

I have alway love using FireFTP. Simple and fast to use.
I have just upgrade (full install) my PC to windows 8 pro using builtin windows defender. Now the FireFTP 2.07 is not able to see any file in the remote site. Has anyone of you encounter this issue? Thanks in advance

Hello John,
I haven't seen this issue. So you are able to connect but, once connected, you don't see any files? Perhaps try hitting Refresh?

I generally use winSCP but sometimes I don't want to leave Firefox and FireFTP comes handy.

It makes me sad that I can't write a five star review. I have been using this program for years, and I have never had an issue. The export/import has been changed (ironically at the same time I upgraded to Windows 8), and I have lost all my connections I have been gathering for years. I noted the removal of the %, and I did that, and it didn't fix it. You can't change export/import routines after years of creating a standard! At least write in a backwards compatibility module. Well, what am I to do now? I'm depending on a standard that is in flux for my development. FTP is crucial, and if the standard for backing up and restoring sites is in flux, you can't count on the program anymore.

Very useful program... until now. It has just started to transfer files as blank. For instance a 2KB web page will transfer as 0KB. Same page transferred to same host with filezilla or cuteftp transfers as 2KB. Version 2.0.7 and FF 16.0.1

Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.0.7.1-signed).

Hm, not sure what could be the cause of the issue in your particular case - perhaps some firewall software? If it works in Filezilla perhaps try Reseting Firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

Really great program until now. After upgrading Firefox I lost all my profiles and there is no fireFTPsites.dat file in my profile folder, only fireFTPprograms.dat. So it looks like all my profiles are deleted.

Anyone have any ideas?

Today FireFTP "lost" or hid all my connections/accounts.

Firefox 15.0.1.
I tried FireFTP 2.0.7, 2.0.6, 2.0.5 with uninstal between versions.
All my accounts are still invisible.
Any options other than further downgrading and waiting for updates?

I find FireFTP a good FTP client. I happen to enjoy browser based solutions.
I have a couple problems with it: 1) i can't set a program to open files on Linux 2) it keeps crashing my browser
I'm using 2.0.7.
I hope a future release fixes some of these bugs!

Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (2.0.7.1-signed).

Hello,
to address your issues:
1) you should be able to right-click on a file and select Open With->Add Programs to add new files.
2) Crashing browser? Yikes. It might be a conflict with another extension. You can try Reseting Firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

"%" character was not found in my fireFTPsites. However garbage characters were found for account and localdir where Japanese characters are used. When these characters were removed, fireFTP started working normally.

I'm getting the same error everyone else is. (various line numbers, 2, 303, 323, etc.)
The account chooser will not operate.

I managed to downgrade to 2.05 and that worked, but then it updated itself again to 2.06. I tried 2.07 and it was the same problem. I'll try 2.05 again, and hope this version sticks till it gets fixed.

I'm on a Macbook running 10.6.8.

This is an otherwise excellent add-on. I use it daily.
