At first, everything is fine ; I was able to configure the module and to make a notification test.
But then after, restarting Thunderbird, the modules page advice me that Gnome integration is incompatible with ThunderBird.
Strange behavior... So I decided to turn off the compatibiliy check feature in Thunderbird's config and re-install the module.
It went well but after a system restart the module wont show up in the module list, as if it had been deleted.
Any ideas how to fix it?
I updated compatibility of the extension and now this message must dissapear in TB 6.0

Good extension, but can't get rid of it with tb5... I can unistall it, but 2 o 3 tb5 restarts later, it appears again... How can I really uninstall it ??
Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.4.1). Cet utilisateur a une critique précédente de ce module. This extension is like any other so, if you can't uninstall it is a Thunderbird issue.

launchpad.net slash libnotify-mozilla works better. This one notifies on every unread message each restart!
Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.4.1).I plan to fix this issue, adding options to notify only once for each connection (even if TB downloaded 1.000 mails).

Good - but the tray icon does not automatically disappear when mail is read; in fact, i've had a second icon appear when more mail arrives. Is there a fix?

Hello, Very nice add-on but there is a problem. If I enable and select particular local accounts and use IMAP for these accounts (Gmail and other) notifications does not work. In POP3 case it works. Thanks.

Hi ! This extension more or less replace the "new mail icon" extension which is not compatible with TB3.
However, i've got 3 remarks/requests.
i) There are X mails icons if i've got X mails
ii) mail icon don't disapear when i read the mail
iii) it doesn't open TB on the new mail when i click on the icon.
Did you plan to improve these things?
Thanks :)

Woow, it is a very-very good plugin. I'd like to notice only one problem: I use my thunderbird through alltray and I use a lot of folder in my IMAP account with a lot of filters which are stored in a central mail server (so the server puts my mails into the folders and not the TB itself). The thunderbird fetches the folders correctly but I don't get notification about the mails which are in a folder... :( I do not know the reason.
Answer for vaites's question: Sorry for my late. No, I use the IMAP server of my university which is completely different from the GMail.
Thanks for your response Róbert, I'll try to fix this problem in next version. ¿Are you using GMail or other service?

Works fine with TB 2.0.0.24 on Ubuntu 9.10. (I dont hear sound, though.)
I recommend enhancing notify-osd to work with notify-send. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notify-osd/+bug/390508 #126.
notify-osd don't support sounds but I'm working in an enhancement that will allow users to select what sound player must be used. Unfortunatly, notify-osd uses fixed timeouts based on priority and can't be modified...

Works well, and nice to see notifications through the proper system (I'm using openSUSE with notify-osd bodged in as a replacement for notification-daemon). I thought there used to be something similar that you could set up manually, but I couldn't find anything that worked with Thunderbird 3.
Only minor issue I noticed was with translation - there is a "y" in the HTML list for the message where it should be "and" in English :)

Edited the install.rdf to enable thunderbird 3.1.*. Everything seems OK. No 100% CPU here.

It doesn't work as expected with Thunderbird 3.1
It seems the extension - even if disabled - causes Thunderbird to freeze, with a memory usage of over 300MB and CPU usage of 100-200% !!!
PANIC!

Great add-on, it works perfectly! :)
But I have a question. I use TB also as feed reader; is there a way to make the notifications appear just with mail and not with feeds?
Next version gives the option to select what accounts must not show notifications, including news and feeds :)

Thunderbird's own notifications are more useful, as with them, clicking on them actually opens the new message.
Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.3.1).I'm working on it using DBus to allow open mail, mark as read or mark as spam

Awesome! Until now I used Mozilla Notification Extensions (experimental). Both work fine, but I really like the customization options of this addon. Additionally I use Evolution Mirror to sync the Lightning calendar with the gnome clock applet.
Cette critique concerne une version précédente du module (0.3.1).I'm looking for a easy way to sync Lightning with Gnome clock applet without Evolution dependencies, but don't know if is possible yet. I hope so :)

This is a great addon, and I'm already using it! Thanks for this nice work!
Althought, there's something that annoy me: If I receive like 10 e-mails, it use one notify for every single one of that e-mail. If you could someway solve this problem, it would be awesome!
In version 0.4 you can customize the number of "concurrent" notifications
