Works great, thanks for making this.

Just one question: When I right-click the icon in the tray nothing happens. With older version it used to open the context menu from where I used to close the app. Under options the setting is active, but I still can't right-click it. Is this a know bug?

Cheers!

Thanks so much! I was using two plugins before to achieve what this one offers, and they all don't work with the latest version.

Although it took me some time to find the options to configure minimise on close. I thought there should be a "preference" button in the extensions page. I had to go to burger icon -> hover over "add ons" right arrow -> click on the extension

T H A N K . Y O U !

It works perfectly on v60.2.1 but I can't the settings button.

Edit:
Thx for your answer.
Ok, I get it :
The setting button is gone from the add-on view, now we have to use the menu ;-)

Hi, in theory the settings are visible from the "Tools/Addon Options" menu. If it is not the case, it could be a bug that you can report on the GitHub repository :)

Works on 60.2.1, but I do not see it in the list Tools / Addons and I can not change the settings.

This good that after half year of hell somebody created version that work with new Thunderbird. Please can you add notifications pop-up and change tray icon to show how many new letters you have? Then this will be truly "reanimated". Thanks you!

In fact, as long as the addon has not been verified (it's been 3 weeks), it does not appear in the search results of the site.

Excellent, thank you so much to have reanimated it :))
Just for information, the add-on doesn't appear when I look for it in TB search (Search field "search on addons.thunderbird.net" in the add-on tab)

I really appreciate that this add-on is back, however I would like to make the tray icon persist. In general, I cannot seem to find any settings for this. Actually had to install from file since it wasn't showing up in the search and then I cannot view the options/

Hi, in the options (Tools / Addons preferences / MinimizeToTray Reanimated) you will find a section "Tray-icon". If the option "show always" is checked, the icon should persist in the systray.

Doesn't work in thunderbird 60.2.1
Hope this will be fix!

PS. This bug is always fixed in version 1.4.6

Hi, thanks for the review;
the addon has been tested successfully on TB 60.2.1; what is your operating system?
Maybe this your problem is related to this issue that is still annoying at the moment:

Great job! As an alternative in future you can use 4t tray minimizer - but I was able to tune it only by clicking tab panel. It doesn't recognize FF or TB window buttons as windows native ones.

Yeah, thx for reply - I just read about it after writing a comment) It's kinda sad that guys from FF team are polishing anything but the API for one of the most popular addon. "It's a matter of time" seems to be the most polite expression to describe my feelings - it has been almost a year since FF 57.

Hi, there is no compatibility with Firefox, because this addon still uses old APIs whose support ended with Firefox Quantum.
Nevertheless it seems not impossible to do in the future a program using WebExtensions, compatible with Firefox and Thunderbird :)
It's a matter of time...

Working correctly in TB 60.0.
It's sad that this add-on has no future in the new rules with webextensions. It should come natively and predetermined in the TB client itself.
Thank you very much for helping in the development of this add-on.

This appears to be the only working addon that allows you to minimize to tray on Thunderbird >= 60. Running on Windows 10, and everything is perfect now, thank you. Your hard work is appreciated.

Thank you :)
Please note that on Windows 10 the context menu that should appear when right click on the tray icon has been repaired but will be available once this addon allowed / reviewed on this site (in order not to delay its verification).

Thank you for the new developer to keep this alive. Someone opened a ticket on bugzilla to have this integrated into TB. Those interested in it, can please register, comment and add their vote to it?

I'm constantly switching between windows all day long and to have TB in the mix is annoying because I keep clicking on it accidentally. Minimizing it to tray is a requirement and while it was unavailable since the latest upgrade, I was going nuts! So Thank You Very Much!

I totally agree, email software should be minimized, that's why I try to revive this extension ;)
