It syncs perfectly with my Google Tasks, but extends the screen behind the Windows taskbar, to where I can't see the controls. So if I edit a task, I can't click "OK" and return to the list.
When I disable the Today Pane, I can then see the full Thunderbird window, including the status bar at the bottom. In another forum, I read that add-ons can cause this to happen. I will search the forums for a solution.

It works well and syncs from my computers. Just wish there was a way to add it to the Tasks tab in Thunderbird instead of on the side bars.

***Update***
Sorry, Newbie error. When you add a Google calendar to the built-in Sunbird, you can select the Google Tasks and it will populate in the task tab.

If you you missed it on the first setup, like I did. You can just add a new Google calendar and select the task list checkbox. The Google tasks will show up in your Tasks tab.

I'm moving back to Thunderbird from emClient. I use Google Tasks, so this add-on seemed like a good option. However, the add-on does not sync. The status indicator shows red with an exclamation point, but an error message is not shown. A mouse-over pop-up says that "Details were logged to Thunderbird's error console."

That may be fine for a developer, but how does one access the error console?

Removing the add-on and adding it back into Thunderbird v45.5.1 did not help.

I guess I'll have to use use the actual Google Calendar page to manage tasks. Man, life is so hard. Next, I might have to sharpen a pencil and keep a notepad in my pocket.

gContactSync I just deleted all phone numbers with the status: The contact is old and will be deleted

Worked perfectly but has recently stopped syncing.

Would benefit from being able to choose default task list to display.

Although the description implies that this add-on is capable of syncing tasks from Google Calendar with Lightning (which is not done by default through lightning), this is not what happens...
As you should know, Google Calendar Tasks and Gmail Tasks are two different animals! This add-on syncs tasks created in Gmail Tasks, but has nothing to do with the tasks created in Google Calendar (the ones you create from the GCalendar web interface or apps in addition to events and goals).
If you are here for calendar tasks, you will be disappointed (just as I was) but if you are using the less known Gmail task lists, this can help you.

Really nice add-on. Has a better display GUI than 'Provider for Google Calendar', as you can switch between Task-Lists. But since 45.0 not working any more :-( .

I assume this add-on needs to be updated for compatibility. Great until now, although this has happened in the past.

Sync works nicely. The advantage over Provider for Google Calendar with Lightning is that you can select multiple task lists.

However, there are a number of limitations:
* it appears only to sync one Google account (I need several)
* it initially chose to live in the Folder Pane, and didn't sync (errors in the Error Log) - when I changed the addon's option to put itself in the Today Pane and restarted, it asked me to choose an account, did the OAuth authentication, and worked fine from there
* can't add or delete task lists - but this isn't a big deal really
* can't reorder tasks and although it shows subtasks, I can't figure out how to indent or outdent them

I have T'bird 45.0.3 and am having issues syncing with google tasks.

This is a simple but nice extension.
I think that a little improvement would be to put the checked items at the end of the list with the ability to hide them.
Thanks

Used with Ubuntu. If I try to add a task, the error code MODIFICATION_FAILED comes up. Does not sync not upload any task created with Thunderbird.
First time installed.

Tomasz - I have fixed the date bug and would like to send you the code. Where can I send it?

Use the "support email" in my other add-on's listing:

This is the add-on that I was hoping to find. Makes Thunderbird + Gmail a complete PIM. Excellent work!!

I dig this addon, however, I am having one small issue in using it. The pane that it comes up in, the background is white, but so it the text! I can read the text by selecting the text within the pane, so I can still use it. But, I do have to say that it is a bit on the onerous side, although,it is also useful enough that I am doing so. It would be really awesome to have some styling settings for this addon to set the background and foreground colors. I'll give the 5th star for that...

I really like to be able to sync my Google tasks with Thunderbird BUT it would be really nice to be able to designate the Google Task list as default. There does not seem to be a way of re-ordering or removing task lists - they default to alphabetical which means that Google tasks are always hidden until chosen form the drop down box :(

This addon is very useful.
I use 2 computers (one at home and one at work), and the Google tasks can be synchronized easily.
(multi-computer environment wasn't supported in version 0.5.2)

**Edit: each time I launch Thunderbird, Google Task Sync cannot sync.
In the error console :
Error: Google Task Sync: Not Found
chrome://google_tasks_sync/content/tasks_sync.js

I can fix it if I clear the authentication token at next startup, but the sync issue reappears every day... Waiting for full Thunderbird 45 support!!!

I manage some number of task lists and control the listing order by their title. Like below;
* inbox, 10.Projects, 11.pj/Foo, 12.pj/Bar, ...
This trick works well in Gmail, but Google Tasks Sync addon doesn't care. So, I tried a little remodeling based on 0.5.2. Thank you.

This remodeling has been patched on 0.5.3. Thank you :-)

I could not read completely all other statements - hope not to produce doubles.
But it would be great great having the opportunity to create more than only one task account. As is the case with Android apps such as Gtasks or ACalendar.

Should be a 2nd drop down to switch between the accounts, herein then between the lists.

Purpose: My wife and I use 3 Google accounts for mail/contacts/calendar/tasks - her own, my own, and a mutual one. Actually we use lists in the mutual account (her, mine, ours). With switchable accounts however we have the additional option to make notes and tasks in a "really own" list that must not be accessible to the other one.

5 star anyway, but perhaps?
