2016.06.16 20:48:19:434 : Validation module: Synchronisation fehlgeschlagen (Schritt: validateWithoutDiscovery, URL: https://myserver:8443/addressbooks/users/<user>/addressbook/, Status: 401)

Beispiel: https://myserver:8443/addressbooks/users/benutzer@domain/addressbook/

Works flawlessly with the Horde-Groupware. We use it with shared address books.

Cardbook is the tool to replace the SoGo connector.
Cardbook can handle the contacts on a full featured CardDAV-server
Cardbook should be part of the thunderbird-core!

Cardbook is really working nice. Much better than the SoGo-Connector.
The only problem I got so far is that if the "collect outgoing email" option is active, addresses are saved, even if they already are in the addressbook. I think it would be more useful to only collect new addresses.
oops this is a bug... I will investigate...
EDIT : this should be corrected in 10.2

Suggestions:
- Automatic contacts search and merge tool (like in Google contacts).
- Integration with Thunderbird's filters - as for now, it doesn't see CardBook's categories and addressbooks.
Implemented features, many thanks:
- Possibility to merge contacts when search filter is used.
there already is a merge tool (right click on selected contact(s))
for the yandex categories, may you contact me by email : cardbook.thunderbird@gmail.com

Carddav is great, and so-go connector not available for the current Thunderbird.
EDITED: Problems with unicode were caused by database misconfiguration and had nothing to do with this great add-on.
may you contact me by email cardbook.thunderbird@gmail.com ?

I have to admit that I've only used the extension for two days now, but so far it worked perfectly with my DAVical server and in conjunction with CardDAV-Sync on Android.
Good bye SOGO Connector with all its bugs, hello quality CardDAV support! :)

This Addon provides everything I heavily miss in Thunderbird's standard addressbook. For the first time I can really manage my addresses in Thunderbird now. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much for providing this awesome tool. It is a lot better than SoGo and provides many more options to work on contacts.

The module is almost perfect ! One little problem thus :
When I save a whole address in the "street" field (to make it match the Android Contacts address field), only the number of the street appears in the Android Contacts app, and I cannot use it. When I go back to Cardbook, I see that the remaining part of the address (name of the street, postal code, city) is on the line under the number. That's probably why Android cannot see this part of the address, and transfer it to a GPS app.
Could the address be entirely saved on the first line so that I can enter it in Cardbook and use it on Android ?
Plus, I always put a "," between the number and the name of the street, and Cardbook deletes it when I press the save button. It is a pity as I like the French official way of writing addresses.
Thanks, and congrats for the good job, I've been looking for such a module for à long time !

Works very well with radicale, and is definitely a step up from the default thunderbird address book.
Very nice!

DANKE

Thunderbird's built in "Address Book" is very limited and doesn't offer any CRM like (minor) features so it's kept me away from Thunderbird. This add-on offers unlimited flexibility for contact management.
Possible Improvements:
-- Built-in, predefined, extensible IM fields (jabber, skype, etc.)
-- Full VCard 4.0 support can make this add-on a life-saver for millions
-- Company / Contact diversity

How to import the already existants Thunderbird adresses into Cardbook?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.4).you may contact me here : cardbook.thunderbird(at)gmail.com
for your problem, there is no easy way... when Cardbook will be more mature, I'll write something for this but not for the next 6 months...
Edit : somebody told me this path :
There's a way:
1/ Export your existing contacts as vcf (e.g. with
MoreFunctionsForAddressBook
https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html)
2/ open the file generated and then change all these strings "VERSION=2.1" with this string "VERSION=3.0", save it
3/ import it with cardbook
