Anyone figured out what to put in the box to make the font LARGER, BOLDER and easier to SEE?

The widget is on the right side of the tabs though only shows the tabs in the current window. Would be good to replace that useless "Tabs" with the total tabs in FF. Like 190/523 or so.

This is a most helpful tool, just to keep track. I often have more tabs open than I can see in the tab bar. Without tab counter telling me how many, things sometimes got messy.
With "%vc of %vn " I know where I am in the visible tabs, perfect.

Tab Counter 1.9.9.2
Firefox 44.0
Ubuntu 15.04

Didn't even have to restart.
Only issues I'm seeing now are:
1) can't seem to change the font size in the options
can change the color, but not the size

2) mouseover for the format string isn't showing properly
Shows the explanations in white on black, but I can't see
the actual formats like %n etc.

Love the tab count. Can't believe this isn't part of Firefox, but glad there is an add-on. v1.9.9.2 fixes the issues with Nightly 47.x

Very nice and convenient extension ... with few but meaningful options !!!
Now i know how messy a browsing tour can be :)
I was surprised by the number of tabs i had simultaneously opened.
A good motivation for cleaning :)

Thanks

The pack-rat in me says thanks, as it lets me know when I'm getting a little to full up with tabs.

At least now I'll know in advance why Firefox and my PC have bogged down--my record is 658 open tabs (Session Manger told me after the fact.)

Thanks.

I've had zero problems with this ever.
Plus, I haven't hit 300 tabs since getting this :)

small and effective

it does not waste any space on the toolbar

shows the number on the top-right corner in the place as the tabs, just before the minimize window button

works perfectly on FF v38.0.5, and updates on opening or closing tabs

In Firefox 38.0.1, Tab Counter number of tabs is not refreshing when I close a tab.
It still displays the same number of tabs that were displaying prior to closing the tab(s).

Below is the same format string that I have always used.

%c of %n

How do I show the total number of tabs open in all windows?

(So if I have 10 windows with 10 tabs each, it shows the number 100.)

I'm currently using the string '%n' and it's only showing the number of tabs in the current window.

I think a little bit of UI assistance with the string box would be helpful for non-programming savvy people.

For everyone looking for some options to display "different" tab information, that ability is in the add-on and for me very useful. Under options, you can use "Use advanced text formatting" then highlight over the open text field to find this:

Format String Expansions:

%a: Number of tabs After the current tab.
%b: Number of tabs Before the current tab.
%c: Number of the Current tab.
%n: Total Number of tabs.
%va: Number of visible tabs After the current tab.
%vb: Number of visible tabs Before the current tab.
%vc: Number of the Current visible tab.
%vn: Total Number of visible tabs.

----------------------

I use "%vn / %n" as my string to show me all of my visible tabs in the current group along with the total number of tabs. (Ex: 50 / 100)

Finally I found a working addon that (together with "open tab count widget" that count the total number of tabs opened in all windows) replace the old "Open Tab Count" and that allow me to se how many tabs are opened in a single window.

"Only" 4 stars because I think that a more complete addon would be much more useful.
My idea is an icon that shows the per window or group count (as this addon does) that, once clicked, opens a small panel that shows (in this order, and with a proper description):
- tabs opened in the present group
- tabs opened in the present window
- tabs opened in all windows (total)
It would be even nicer if I can choose which of these value I want to show in the icon without open the panel, or even to choose to show more than one value (for example 7/4/3 would mean 7 tabs in total, 4 in this window and 3 in this group).

Thanks!

PS: this addon is not so easy to find, if I search for "tab count" it don't appear. Maybe you need to add some search keyword.

Works for me. Even though it's marked no restart, I had to restart to see it.
