Wonderfull with keepass
Before I get into trouble.
Does anyone know whether Hostname in Titlebar still works when I also start using Personal Titlebar.
First of all: I assume, using Personal Titlebar, I need to keep the Titlebar Text in the Titlebar

This is simply wonderful, and a perfect companion for Keepass... when it works. Unfortunately I cannot get this to work anymore, since FF4, and onwards this addon just doesn't show anything in the title bar. Very disappointing. UPDATE 23/09/2011 - thanks for the reply bughunter, I've looked into it more and it's obvious you're correct. I've updated my rating. Well done, and thanks for the response.

The add-on is actually still working, KeePass can still find the Firefox window and the Firefox window title is still correctly being modified. I'm well aware of why it _seems_ to not work. The user-interface layout has changed substantially in Firefox 4, and the title is never displayed if you are using the new user-interface layout. If you prefer, you can turn back on the old user-interface layout, to see the title being modified, but it's not necessary for password manager utilities such as KeePass to find the Firefox window. You can use the Windows Task Manager (if you're a Windows user) and go to the Applications tab to verify that indeed the Firefox window title is still there, and it's still being modified by the add-on.

It's awsome add-on for firefox, but I think it doesn't work in palemoon5 now. I tried it both in portable version and install version before, but it doesn't. I'm using windows 7 x86.

I couldn't find any support e-mail or forums, so I'm writing here.Unfortunately, in Thunderbird it works correctly only for IMAP authentication. POP authentication seems to be unaffected and SMTP authentication doesn't show the server hostname.I'd also like to have the URI scheme included (e.g. smtp://, imap://, pop3://).

EDIT] I tried to change the usernames according to your advice and it mostly worked, but I can't log into my university account with the new username.

You can set the 'User Name' in the 'Account Settings' to an email address such as 'foo@example.org' instead of just the user name 'foo'. This way, Thunderbird shows this email address in the authentication dialog message, which the add-on can then parse and, if successful, show in the titlebar. Gmail and Hotmail are known (at the time of writing) to accept an email address as the user name.

Perfect for KeePass!
Thank you.

Meanwhile I modified the code (HostnameInTitlebar.js) a little bit which helped me to overcome the issue with "Coral IE Tab". I simply exchanged the line containing

if (hostname === "ietab"

by

if (hostname === "coralietab""

If this will be implemented into the next release I'll give five stars.

In principle this addon is great without much code footprint. Unfortunately it does not cooperate with IE Tab / Coral IE Tab. In combination with those addons it shows "coralietab" or "ietab" instead of the correct hostname. Currently I overcome this with using "Customize Titlebar". Is there any chance that this wrong hostname behaviour will be fixed?

Brilliant add-on!
It would be great if the next version included the URI scheme as well - this way, the user can configure the hot key to work only on SSL log-in pages for example.

Thank you. The perfect addon for Keepass users.

Be aware everyone - it does not work with Titlebar tweaker! Mr Techs Toolkit works fine however to use multiple Firefox browsers with different password sets in Keepass :)

Using these with Proxomitron and JDList gives me the time/date of page load in titlebar and website which is perfect for forum use.

Facilitates construction of unambiguous target window strings for KeePass. It could further simplify construction of KeePass target window strings if it included a capability to copy the new title string. Excellent job!

Thanks, but please contact me by e-mail if you want to make a feature request since I may not always read the reviews.

Does exactly what it says, and makes KeePass smarter. Thanks!

Nice add-on. Works perfect with KeePass. But it doesn't work with the other add-on called IE Tab. In this case it always shows # ietab # instead of the hostname. But anyway big thanks to the author :)

Hey, thanks for the compliment. By the way, version 1.0.4 will include a workaround for the problem with IE Tab. It'll be available after it's approved by Mozilla (I've already uploaded it).

Brilliant! Perfect for KeePass users facing all those totally painful websites containing nothing more than "Sign In" in the page titles (thanks Amazon, thanks Microsoft Live, ...).

BTW, it's very easy to change the # delimiter if, like me, you find it a little too glaring. Just modify the DELIMITER constant (to, for example, '-') in hostnameInTitlebar.js file, disable the add-on in FF's Add-ons page, restart FF, then enable the add-on. Couldn't be simpler!

Kudos bughunter2 -- very well done!

Thank you. Though, the next version will be more user-friendly; users can actually change the delimiter in the add-on's preference dialog.

This addon is great for those annoying websites that don't list the name of the website in the page title.

Makes Keepass a little friendlier with websites that have title of "signin". I; using plugin with FFX 3.3 beta3 with no problems.

Thanks.

it works for kee-pass ONLY IF you slightly modify the file hostnameintitlebar.js to have in title bar ONLY # hostname # as it was in the previous version
