Hi. Can you add Import from eml files feature more customizable. I need this: if my account connect with POP3 on 2 computers, and I using EML file base in TB set, the problem is that "Sent" folder are different on two PC's in TB, so i wanna make some script for periodically export/import eml in Sent folder from PC1 to PC2 and backward (but I can't find any info about export/import from command line). I was found only this extension and manual feature for doing this stuff. Can you help with it?

Hi!!
Can i ask how to export to csv but keeping the info of the arrival time? Like hours and minutes, not just the dates
Bruno
I think it should be possible for me to utilize the index date format. Can you post this on the Github repository, there I can communicate on this.

Great add-on, but one thing that could be improved is the HTML export. Currently it isn't recursive, so if you have an email folder with sub-folders, you can only export the sub-folders individually.
I'd like to be able to just select a root folder and have it make a complete HTML archive of the root folder and all sub-folders if possible.

Great Add-on, thank you! But the backup is a folder with thousands of mini files... I think it's better to compress the files in one zip-file. The difference of the file size is significantly! Also, my cloud is uploading/downloading just one file... to compress it by script, you can use 7zip ;)
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.2).Oztanet
Yes compression does make sense sometimes.
I can add a feature request in the repository.

THANKYOU !!! YOU SAVED ME !!
Chris I just want to thank you for this incredibly helpful addon. As soon as this crisis is over I will send you a donation. I'm in a huge legal battle with my greedy landlord and this has helped MASSIVELY to quickly export emails as PDFs in a standard format starting with the date. You have saved me hours with this! I don't know how anyone can give a low rating. The thing is powerful and incredibly useful. Thankyou Chris, you're a LORD ! If we escape homelessness, YOU my friend will have played a part!!
PS I see a guy below complaining that it doesn't export attachments...What, it's meant to do that AS WELL?! That is LUXURY! I just downloaded the attachments myself, with gratitude. Thank you champion!
PPS I just tested export attachments in HTML, txt and EML - all working. And look at that sweet implementation of the html export: just click the attachment at bottom and up they come! (12.0.2)
Sweet...piece...of...kit !

Thank you for your very gracious review! It would be better not
to need IETNG for your current battle, but having the right tools
to fight back is good. I truly wish you luck and hope you are
successful! For me I have my own issues being disabled and having
to program by eye gaze, however, it is so rewarding to hear from
people like yourself that express their appreciation and even
better when they describe what they are doing. So keep up the
good fight and I hope you can keep what you have. BTW the user
who said attachment export did not work never replied to my
questions. Oh well...
All the best

What I *really* need is a way to export/import the configuration/settings for my email accounts. This only exports/imports the entire profile, which means I can't migrate to a different system/OS, or re-create my accounts on a clean/new profile (I could simply copy over my mail files afterwards)
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.0.2).Sorry for the slow response...
This is actually on Thunderbird's roadmap so I am letting them do it as I am swamped already.

Can't export emails with attachements.
Without attach export works fine.
Works with "save as eml"
Save as HTML with attach not working.
Can you post an issue in the github repository where we can debug this?
Thanks

Can this be used (even manually) to extract from a maildir file and then injected to a new server? The old server crashed but fortunately I had made a backup (including /var spool files and user Mail folders) the night before. New server is running, but I need a way to get info out of the backup files (in a .tar file) into the new server. I have copied the files to the server, but could also put them on my regular machine.
Looks like a great tool though.
Thank you
Jd
I think we should be able to do this, however, I will be honest that maildir hardly ever comes up so I rarely get into it.
Can you open an issue in Github where we can debug :

Nach einem Providerwechsel hatte ich große Hoffnung in dieses Plugin gesetzt.
Leider funktioniert es mit der aktuellen Version nicht sauber.
Ordnerstrukturen werden nicht angelegt.
Teilweise werden Mails hundertfach importiert.
Teilweise gar nicht.
Bitte, ich benötige unbedingt dieses eigentlich tolle Tool.
Darum bitte schnell reparieren!
Danke!

Can you make an issue in the github repository, that is where I can help debug your problem.
Please give details on os, tb and IETNG versions. Also what you are trying to do. What email format you are trying to import, its structure and specific comments on what you did.
Thanks

Simply indispensable,
this ingenious add-on.
Unfortunately, when e-mails are automatically backed up, a window always pops up that you have to confirm in order for the backup to start.
That's okay and good if you have a backup made once a month or once a week. Only with backups that are made once a day does it get annoying over time.
Please change this via settings so that you can also switch off this confirmation window.
Thanks.
Thank you!
That sounds like a good suggestion, have to look at any potential issues. I am slowly working on a 12.0.3 release so I can probably do this. Can you post a feature request in the github repository? That way it can be tracked and discussed.

I think I saw your post yesterday, however, github seems to have dissappeared it! I have another post that went missing.
Would you mind reposting?

This is an awesome tool and I have used it for quite a long time (including the old not -NG version).
Unfortunately the last time I tried to save as pdf it produces no pdf file.
Followup: Beta version from Developer fixed it; works *perfectly*. THANK YOU !!!
pls check paypal for donation!
Again demonstrates there is always *far* better support from developers of free software than from developers of paid sw.

Yes a TB update broke PDF printing. Good news is I have beta that fixes this. I should be releasing this week. You can download the beta here and install the addon from file on the extensions tab:

Hello Christopher,
really a big thank you for this extension which is very practical and very useful.
I basically use it to save the message in EML format.
There is a small parameter that could be very very very useful to fix.
When I right-click on the message and choose "save selected messages" then "EML format", the explorer window that opens is not always the same and most of the time corresponds to documents or the username.
Would it be possible, please, to be able to fix this parameter is to choose the default destination folder when saving messages in EML.
IMPORTANT :
I correct what I just wrote above. I'm really stupid and thank you for your message. I had not seen that you could set the destination directory by going to the "extension settings" then tab "export folders" then check "export select messages" then click on "Browse". Everything works GREAT. So, I'm good to donate! Thank you again for your help and really BRAVO for this very nice extension. Best regards, Olivier
Really thank you very much for your help,
best regards

Thanks for the nice review!
Any chance you can post this issue in Github? We can clarify there. The export directory options may do what you want, but perhaps not exactly.
I will email as well.

Componente aggiuntivo molto utile.
Manca solo la possibilità di esportare PDF (con allegati)
I'd like to have "export PDF (with attachments)"
