Awesome addon, works w/ very minimal effort, just great.

Following Google's increasingly bizarre behaviour in the realm of privacy and having had my Google+ account cancelled in the 'real names' debacle I needed to find a search provider I could trust. DuckDuckGo appears to offer results that are as valid as any other provider and as none of my search criteria are collected I know that it can never be mis-used (by accident or as part of corporate policy). This add-on simply appends the DuckDuckGo search to my list of other providers without burdening me with any other clutter or un-wanted additions. The result is that I can still search the web just as effectively as before and I can do it knowing that I'm not paying for the functionality with my personal privacy.

DuckDuckGo is undoubtedly one of the finest search engines in existence. Private. Clean. Tons of customization. Perfection!

I like how this gives good results and doesn't spy on you! It immediately is going in my Apollo! Pack collection!

The search engine is excellent, Firefox should come with it along with Google and the others!

Excellent search engine! In one DuckDuckGo search, I found everything that it had taken me four attempts with other search engines. The only thing that I would like to see added is "cache", because right now you have to scroll and find your key words.

Search results are quite satisfactory. Advertising presence tolerable-to-barely noticeable. Data are sparse as of now, but DDG seems to function when other search engines will not, e.g. because of a redirector infection. DDG is now my default SE with FF.

An excellent search site - which has no search suggestions or autocomplete. Pity.

DDG works very well for me. I like the fact that it doesn't track anything and is quick.

Great product--this one's worth a donation to keep it "free".....

I love DDG, and prefer the ssl version. My only problem with this addon was that there's no js-free https version; only either non-js or https. This was trivial to fix by changing "https://duckduckgo.com/?q={searchTerms}" to "https://duckduckgo.com/html/?q={searchTerms}" in duckduckgo-ssl.xml. Would be nice if there was an official version of this (guessing a lot of people that use noscript also wish to use https), but I was unsure if it was cool to upload my own version with such a minor change.

Privacy and free internet services almost make an oxymoron. Luckily, only almost. On the other hand sites need revenue to provide quality service and on the other hand too many of them compromise user privacy while doing so. Google in itself isn't the worst of the lot (Facebook feels much worse), but their policies should certainly be of concern to any privacy-oriented person. Anyone who says they aren't concerned about datamining because they have nothing to hide, should be asked why do they even lock their doors at night? I know i lock mine because it is my home, my private property. Just the fact that nothing illegal happens at my home doesn't mean strangers should be able to walk in and out at will, especially without me even knowing about it.
Google isn't the only skillful player on the field, and DuckDuckGo proves this. Here's hoping DDG never closes its doors, and never starts harvesting data despite the need to generate revenue.

DuckDuckGo seems to be a very good search engine with some nice features. good customization options. can be used with or without JS and cookies and can provide the same functionality if going without. unlike the privacy wrecking, data harvesting google, DDG has good privacy policy.

Just found out about this search engine by checking my stats and seeing a visitor coming from there. Looks quite promising and I like the focus on privacy. A bit like Scroogle, but without Google :)

The thought of moving from Google made me quite nervous, but now I've done it I've been really impressed by DuckDuckGo. It's an impressively functional search engine with decent results that falls back to Google if it needs to. The fact you can avoid the adverts is great. The fact you can use SSL is even better. I recommend it.

Hands down one of the best engines. No privacy issues, No spying on customers, No stupid ads... What else can I say? It ROCKS!

My new favorite search engine - I use the SSL version in the search box, it's very fast and I enjoy that my search and IP aren't logged and the search results have been excellent.
