My Reviews

Anahi.

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Good-looking woman (Mexican singer/actress I believe) but leaves a lot to be desired as a background. Much of the images are obscured by my address and search bars and what remains makes my icons a little difficult to see.

I've no idea what this is meant to represent, and frankly I don't really care, but it does work surprisingly well as a background. I like the red and yellow colour scheme, even though the red renders the font of my menu buttons virtually invisible until I hover over them, and for once I don't mind that the image is cropped beneath the character's nose on my 4-row toolbar.

Not the most exciting background I've ever seen and I've no idea who they are.
The colour scheme is such that my icons and menu buttons are all perfectly visible, which is always a big plus for me, but it suffers from the usual cropping of the image with only 4 rows of toolbar - but at least all of the girl on the left's face is still intact, and she is by far the most attractive of the foursome.

Azzurri Primo

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Attractive grey colour scheme and a good-looking bike; what a shame it falls foul of one of my constant gripes about these Firefox backgrounds in that the image is dependent on having 5/6 rows of toolbars. The image is cropped at the pedals on my 4-row scheme.

I've no intention of making unkind comments about people and their children, but I do wonder why you felt the need to publish this for worldwide public consumption?
That said, it does make for a surprisingly good background - the washed out nature of the image renders all my icons and menu buttons perfectly visible, and in this instance I have no gripes whatsoever about the fact that the children are cropped off at the nose when using only 4 rows of toolbars.

Elsa_Frosen_Disney

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Could have been good but fails for me on so many levels.
Even on the preview Elsa's face is cut off at the bottom of the nose, but on my 4-row menu/toolbar all I can see of her face is half of the left eyelash and the forehead. And the background blue, whilst a very attractive colour
makes all the icons and menu buttons very difficult to see properly.

On the plus side I like the grey to black colour gradient, and all my icons are clearly visible. On the down side the image is very noisy and speckled and, on my 4-row toolbar, cuts him off just below the mouth.

A Cat Nap

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A good and funny bit of of photoshopping which unfortunately falls foul of my pet hate with the majority of backgrounds - it requires 5/6 rows of toolbars to see the entire image. With my mere 4 rows the cat is cropped at the bottom of the nose and the woman at the waist.

harleydavidson

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Not a biker or a bike fan but works quite well as a background. Doesn't need more than my 4 rows of toolbars to see all of the images, but those on the right do make the icons there very difficult to see.

Devils sisters

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

They don't look very evil to me - but then I suppose that's all part of Satan's master plan!
As a background the left half is good, but the colours and characters on the right make some of my icons difficult to see properly, hence the low rating.

Snowy land - Paysage enneige

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Lovely theme that meets all my criteria for a good background - simple but effective, all the pertinent parts of the image can be seen with just a 4-row toolbar, and all of the icons are still clearly visible.

Aldebaran

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not often I give a 5-star rating but this is exactly the sort of background I like.
It's simple but effective with an attractive colour scheme, it doesn't matter how many or how few rows of toolbars you prefer, and it doesn't make the icons difficult to see.

LocoRoco

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Much too messy for my taste and makes some of the icons on the toolbars difficult to see properly.

Flowers and Old Lace by MaDonna

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A bit too girly for my taste but, as usual with MaDonna themes, it is very pleasing, attractive and unintrusive - exactly what a good background should be.

Death Valley

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you say so - it could be anywhere with a grey sky as far as I can tell!
That said, it ticks all the boxes of a good screensaver for me - simple, doesn't require at least 5 rows of toolbars and doesn't obscure the icons.

narshaaaa

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Attractive girl but no idea what her music is like. Falls into one of the usual pitfalls of so many themes in that it needs too many rows of toolbars to see the images properly - she's cut off at the mouth in the right hand image on my 4-row toolbar.

Mozilla Flames

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like the colour and the simplicity but think it could do without the logo - I know I'm using Firefox!

COLOUR FRACTAL

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good colours make for a pleasing toolbar background that is not dependent on the number of rows in your toolbar and which doesn't obscure any of the icons.
But this is NOT a fractal!

Colorful Whites

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Had high hopes for this until I realised that the swathe of purple on the right hand side rendered the icons on that side of my toolbars virtually invisible. Transpose the purple and the green and it would be a vast improvement; and reduce the amount of white!

Dad holds up babys Life

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I know it's not Father's Day but this was my random selection for today. Works OK as a theme but definitely not my cup of tea - too cute and I don't like kids!
