This sidebar is, in a number of ways, superior to the to "Net" functionality in FireBug. It is more stable than Firebug, it displays absolutely everything that appears in the sent and received HTTP headers, and the "Save All" feature is extremely useful. This add-on has helped me solve dozens of very tricky Web site issues. It is one of the first things I add to every new Firefox install.

Spyder, Lucian, sounds like you're looking for Server Spy (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2036). Nice little addon, displays the web server type in the status bar, and double-clicking on it displays additional details (like what extensions have been loaded on it).

As for LiveHTTPHeaders, it's the best addon of its type!

spyder, I'm looking for the same thing.
I'm going to try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2166
It seems to be the closest thing to it.

I searched for a simple add-on capable to display the remote web server version (status bar, menu option ,etc). But this is not useful for such a simple purpose (you have to open the live http headers window, reload the page, and search among hundred of lines, some not generated by the domain displayed in the browser main url address). That is, it is even faster to open an xterm and run a telnet with a HEAD command against the remote server. Does somebody know a simple addon for such a job?

I found it appends a string at the end of every field, like this http://a.imagehost.org/0198/20090811.png , I tried to disable all other addons and it's still appending them.

Does what it says on the box. I don't use it often, but when I do I'm thankful it's there. Great for debugging dynamic web sites and occasionally snooping the implementation of other web sites. Probably only of value to web developers and other web geeks.

For me, in FF3.0.11, Win XP SP2, LHTTPH version 0.15 shows a string of strange characters after each header string. Presumably same sort of problem as was fixed for FF3.5 still/now exists in FF3.0.11.

Works fine on 3.5pre (2009-06-05) when I force it to install with Nightly Tester Tools. No strange characters as in Hans’ link, either.

A lite version more akin to Safari’s “Activity” window would get 5 stars and be much appreciated.

FYI: It does work in Firefox 3.5 beta - see https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=21016

Does all I expected it to do—and does it wonderfully.
Wish it was compatible with FF3.1.
