this extension has promise. it is primarily for japanese speakers, but does have an english dictionary -- though i couldn't get it to work, i presume it should offer to autocomplete search words being entered. but my biggest problem was that when i had it configured, effectively disabling the "migemo" feature since i don't speak japanese, the extension disabled use of right-click on a toolbar for customizing various toolbar buttons. yikes! as soon as i disabled the extension, "customize..." came back as an operative option. so i'll leave it disabled for now. i'd sure like to see this bad behavior eliminated, and a true dictionary autocomplete feature implemented in the FF search feature.

Can anyone tell me why it keeps downloading the dictionary everytime FF is restarted? Fix?

Pretty nice add-on with a few things to improve.
I looked for a plug-in for regexp-based search for quite long. It's implemented nice in this plug-in, but it's not convenient to use it on big documents from a quick find bar because it tried to highlight things after each character is typed in the bar and it's quite slow. What would be nice is having some delay after something is typed before search is started. Then I could type many letters quickly without slow-down.

RegExp works nicely once you figure out which RegExp it uses. I wish it liked anchors (\, ^, $) and posix character classes ([[:alpha:]], etc.). But character substitution ([...], [^...], \w, \W, etc.) and both greedy and nongreedy repetition (*, +, {,}) work nicely. Thank you Shimoda!

This add-on has quite a bit of potential.
It would be especially useful for persons with visual impairments. But I have to agree with the others in that the highlights get cleared too easily and the highlight all feature is the determining factor for me to use this add-on.
I'm also not too sure about how to use the dictionary feature.
I'd love to see the problems addressed.
And I may be able to provide you with icons for the configuration window.

When you click inside the page all highlights dissapear, making this add-on worthless.

Why does it exit when you click somewhere on the page ?
This bug makes this add-on actually worthless.

I grabbed the extension for the safari-3-like search results, rather than the Japanese search. It works as promised, and doesn't slow down my browser. It seems fairly intelligent about turning the page dimming back off, as well.
If possible, It would be great to be able to alter what search results look like... using css or a color-picker dialog, etc. It would also be great to have a version that only does the safari search

1)This expansion is useful for not only people of the CJK language zone but also the Latin language zone.
2)Because the visibility of search results improves by safari3 style.
