@No Nothing: I stopped to wait and I have developed an alternate solution offering equivalent functionality (see Linkificator)
@GiPiero: Using Linkificator (alternate solution to unmaintained Linkification), you can manage this using regular expressions in white list

Very useful addon for me, but for me it would be very useful if I could choose on which page formats enable it.
For example I could choose to enable it only for .txt files opened with firefox, but not for .html, .php, etc...pages.

The addon works great but i use a script on an imageboard that automatically adds new posts in a thread without need of page refresh, it would be nice if the new posts that contain links have the links clickable, here is the link to the creator of the script http://mayhemydg.github.com/4chan-x/

This addon is just great; but could u make the new tab appears next to the origin tab please ?
E.g: I click on a link and the new tab should be next to the current instead of at the end of the tab bar.
Hope u get this and make the right adjustment :)

This add-on works you need to modify the install.rdf file.
How?
Watch this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSqPAjhpsFY
Or
We'll have to edit the addon, make it compatible with your new version of Firefox and then save it.
What a XPI file?
An XPI file is a zipped file containing the files needed to install and use the extension.
In an XPI file, there is a file called install.rdf that includes several parameters including one that tells Firefox which versions it is compatible. So just change these settings.
Get the file. Xpi
If you already own Xpi file, skip this step.
If it is an extension hosted at https: / / addons.mozilla.org, here's how:
With a browser other than Firefox
(IE, Opera, Chrome, Safari ...)
Go to Mozilla Addons page of the extension.
Left click "Add to Firefox". If download save dialog comes up then save the file to your computer.
Otherwise
Right click> on the button "Add to Firefox" and go to properties.
In the "Properties", copy the link where the advanced button (for example : https: / / addons.mozilla.org / en-US / firefox / downloads / latest / xxxx / xxxxxxxx.xpi? src = addondetail )
Paste in the address bar the link (https: / / addons.mozilla.org / en-US / firefox / downloads / latest / xxxx / xxxxxx.xpi? src = addondetail)
A download window opens, save the file to your computer.
It's good, you have the file. XPI!
Edit the file. Xpi
Now extract the Xpi file with the any software like IZArk or 7zip.
You need to change the extension of the file. Rename your file's extension from xxxxxxxx.xpi to xxxxxxxx.zip
Extract the files from your extension, the zip file.
Find the file install.rdf and open it with a text editor such as Notepad
Look for the line
<em:minVersion> 1.0 </ em: minVersion>
<em:maxVersion> 20.* </ em: maxVersion>
MaxVersion change or minVersion suit your needs: maxVersion to put 20 to be quiet until version 20 of Firefox.
Save the file
Re-archive the files to . Zip
Rename the file from xxxxxxxx.zip to xxxxxxxx.xpi
Install file. Xpi in Firefox
Open Firefox on any webpage
Do a drag and drop into Firefox window
A window asks if you want to install the extension!

Using latest version 1.3.9 and seems to work fine. However i'd suggest disabling the auto-linkification option as this seems to break some sites using some specific javascript.

обновив на версию с офиц сайта,(не здесь) для поддержки 11 лисой, теперь глюк словил-- открывается вкладка (любая) и не загружается, часто даже через F5( и адрес пустой висит

To beautifulmnd : no, unfortunately, adding hotmail.com,login.live.com,outlook.com to Linkification exceptions don't change a thing to this new Hotmail freeze. At least I can see that this freeze only occurs at Hotmail opening and don't last more than 2-3 minutes.
Which is far too much of course, but ok, non-permanent.

I've been missing this add-on since Firefox 4.0 was launched, because there was never an update here and just now I realized that there is a newer version in the developer's site.
There are a few other add-ons that do a similar job, but none does it this good and with so much costumization options.
The only flaw I can point is the lack of an updated add-on button, instead of the old status bar icon.
Just hope it gets updated here as well.

To avoid having to disable Linkification so it can work with hotmail just go into the Linkification Options, Functionality and in the exceptions just add these domains: hotmail.com,login.live.com,outlook.com

Doesnot work properly with New hotmail. Causes hotmail to constantly reload & lock up firefox. Not even by adding it to blacklist resolves issue. Please fix thanks
