Email Addresses in Message Headers

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks to the developer that created this extension. Not seeing the email address in the header was a real annoyance for me. I really appreciate your hard work!

QuickDrag

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this extension - many thanks to the developer for all the hard work.

Just to note, Firefox 34.0 brought the following changes to the search engines tool:

https://blog.mozilla.org/ux/2014/11/find-it-faster/

To revert it back to the old style, set the browser.search.showOneOffButtons property to false and restart firefox.

It's a shame, but this extension doesn't work any more. :(

NewScrollbars [Tb 10-56] (discontinued)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Environment:
Ubuntu 12.04
Firefox 32.0

I have enjoyed using this addon. It really helps me see, and quickly grab, the scrollbars that are difficult to see when viewing some web pages. However, I think it has developed a bug, or conflict with the latest version of FF, because the handle often disappears.

Also, although I'm not sure whether it's related, every time I opened addons (via Tools), the addons tab and the whole browser would hang and be totally unresponsive. The only way to recover is to forcibly close the browser and start again. This has been resolved since I disabled NewScrollbars today.

Anyway, thank you for creating the addon - I really appreciate it. I hope you are able to get to the bottom of the new problems.

EDIT: Thanks for the quick response. Leaving my review as it is, in case others miss the note on the addon page like I did. Raising my review for 4 to 5 stars accordingly. :)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1.1-signed).

Tab Counter

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Firefox 30, Ubuntu 12.04

This addon is good, but it would be very helpful if it also displayed the number of open tabs in the current tab group.

However, I do appreciate the work that has gone into it. Keep up the great work! :)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.9.1-signed).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Tab Counter

Note: Please ignore my last review, which actually related to a different addon.

I love this addon. It would be really good if it also showed the total tabs open in all groups too, though.

Thank you for your hard work!

FoxToPhone

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension that I've used for a number of years. The only way it could be improved would be with clearer documentation from a genuine/trustworthy person on how it works and how to set it up.

PS. Thank you for your response, Alfonso. Excuse my obvious ignorance about this extension. It would be really helpful if there was single page to explain how it works in more detail. It's very confusing why the sitetophone.com website was necessary in the first place, why it is no longer necessary, and how the extension works without it. What server is providing the backend to this extension, and why aren't it's details readily available?

Also, when installing the Chrome browser extension and accepting the permissions, chrometophone states, "Chrome to Phone (chrometophone.appspot.com) - not affiliated with Google". Thus, the extension's authenticity is not entirely clear.

I think it would be helpful to begin your instructions with, "Based on the ChromeToPhone project, started by a group of Google engineers, this extension enables you to...". Also, it's my feeling that the About page at www.foxtophone.com would be much better as the front page rather than a subpage. Furthermore, it would be good to include links to the official video (http://youtu.be/pQb243niMlg) and to the Chrome extension page (https://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/) on the website and in this extension's description.

I hope you will take my suggestions in the constructive manner in which they are intended. You are right - I didn't sound very appreciative before. Thank you for your hard work, and for a wonderful extension.

Download Status Bar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really like this extension, and am really grateful to the developer for all the hard work! I have a few suggestions, if you don't mind? ;)

* an easy way, with a single click of the mouse, to show/hide the bar (sometimes I am not near the keyboard, so can't use the shortcut)
* in addition to the information when downloading, it would be good to have "remaining to download" and "total" filesize, possibly in the format remaining/total ie. "175 / 320 MB"

Other than these minor points, it's perfect! Thank you again! :)

PS. For users on Ubuntu/Linux 12.04, the steps to configure Download Status Bar with the Clam antivirus scanner are here:

MinimizeToTray revived

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This has absolutely no effect on Ubuntu 12.04 with Unity, except that it adds a "Minimize to Tray" menu item under the "File" menu and hides all indications that the program is running.

This ought to be stated in the description.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.2.1-signed.1-signed).

Restartless Restart

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I agree with other reviewers that there needs to be an option to disable the shortcut. I would only ever want to explicitly restart my session - the shortcut can lead to a mistake.

Other than this, it's a great extension. I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars if this function is ever added.

Many thanks to the developer.

JavaScript Debugger

Could someone explain why the toolbar icon for this extension is 7 icons wide?

Thanks

Tab Group Switcher

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I am afraid that I regretfully have to amend my previous glowing review, because after a couple of reboots the extension no longer works. The "select next tab group" button does not activate when clicked, and the "Group your tabs" button is not populated unless you switch to each tab group in turn in the normal way.
It's such a shame - I thought this going to be an essential addon.
By the way, I am on Ubuntu 12.04, Firefox 18.0.2.

Sadly this extension does not have as much functionality as the one that it replaces.

RefControl

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I support the suggestion from user "Quatrix" - it's an excellent idea - it would be good if this was an option in refControl.

Also, I feel refControl needs a toolbar button, to quickly access its options.

If these enhancements are made, I will upgrade my rating from 3 to 5 stars.

As I have said before, I absolutely love this extension.
I wrote a review complaining of it producing an Error 500 error, eventually working out that the issue was caused by my configuration.

Anyway, I love this extension but, unfortunately, it is not compatible with FF 3.6. PLEASE, Mr Developer, please resolve this. I would love to continue using this fantastic extension and the related website.

Once this is done, I will restore my rating from 3 to a worthy 5 stars! :-)

Thanks
Hal

SwitchProxy Tool

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

*** BUG REPORT ***
After upgrading from FF 3.0 to 3.6, when I tried to open the Add-ons dialog box, it would close immediately. Thus, I would have to restart FF in safe mode, and disable all extensions. A process of trial and error allowed me to deduce that the Switchproxy extension was the culprit.
It's a shame, because this is a very useful extension.

Pastebin Add-on

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

As I have said before, I absolutely love this extension.
I wrote a review complaining of it producing an Error 500 error, eventually working out that it was caused by my configuration causing the issue. I wrote an update to that, but although showing in my mozilla profile as published, I now realise that it wasn't showing up on the pastebin addon page. My sincerest apologies to the developer for this - I will ensure that I chase the Mozilla team to get this resolved.

Anyway, I love this extension but, unfortunately, it is not compatible with FF 3.6. PLEASE, Me Developer, please resolve this. I would love to continue using this fantastic extension and the related website.
Thanks
Hal

Mostly Crystal (for Firefox)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really love this extension (coupled with "Cute Menus - Crystal SVG". For me, it's an absolutely essential add-on, equivalent in importance to Tab Mix Plus, Firebug and Quickdrag. I think I would even consider moving to Google Chrome if it wasn't available.
To the dev - thanks! Please don't ever stop! ;-)
