Works, but the corrupted-looking toolbar icons and the 'Real' make it look a lot messier than it should be. Thanks for your work, though! :-)

Works just like it should, brilliant! Thank you.

Works!
is the first extension/button that kind that does what it should do (TB 3.1.7, XP). Great. All others I tried don't work!

*ICONS*
There may be a problem displaying icons if you don't use default theme. The developer doesn't use his own icons and some themes may not be a 100% compatible or so. I copied the needed default icons and edited the skin .css; I now have icons. In detail it's to large to post here and I don't know where I can post (in short: 1. Extraxt mail-toolbar*.png from default theme, 2. Edit the list-style-image property. If someone knows where I could post details and/or the files, I will do).

*FEATURES*
Some wanted features do not/will not work, because I think, that the extension does the same thing as the B/F shortcut and these shortcuts don't provide the features. So it is a TB problem, not the extension. If TB would work ...

it works, but it needs to be able to close the message when advancing past the last (or first) message, like Buttons! can (or someone should fix Buttons! to work with newer versions of tb!). I want this functionality, but I don't want it to do nothing when I "fall off" the last message, or open the next folder either. Just return me to the message list, please. I can't be the only person who wants this behavior!

this is the best add-on ever. I'd kill for basic functionality, like hey, open next email (like that's frickin' revolutionary!!!) and after 2-3 years I finally found it. but for whatever reason Thunderbird designers figure that some flash-monkeys-flying-out-my-butt newfangled function is the way to go instead. thanks Shadow912 for doing what Mozilla should have done years and years and years ago. now if only I could find a way change the default on searching my email messages from subject to body...

Just installed, seems to be working fine and does what it says - what the 'next' and 'previous' buttons on Thunderbird should be doing anyway! Very helpful

Works well, when Buttons! doesn't.

Three additional features would make this complete:
1. Actually go Next/Prev even when the display is sorted with the most recent at the top. (A workround that "Buttons!" uses is to just have an option "reverse direction of Next/Prev buttons.)
2. Option to change the text on the buttons. I appreciate you don't want to call them just Next/Prev in the initial Customize dialog - but allowing a subsequent change would be useful.
3. Persuade the highlight in the main message window to track the current message.

I see now. It is perfect in the default theme. I think on other themes it gets the icons mixed up, at least on Nuvola. :(

The buttons work well but they do not use the correct icons. One looks like half the file icon and the other looks like the other half of the file icon plus half of the stop icon.

Fantastic!
Note: After running the install, when you add the buttons be sure to select the icons for "REAL Previous" and "REAL Next"!
The OLD versions of Prev-Next will be in the list but you need to ignore them or you will be adding the wrong buttons. (Probably what the other review did without knowing it.

QUESTION:
Will they ever make this a STANDARD part of the Thunderbird. The old Prev-Next are useless...

I think this one was a good addition, despite the lack of the highlight change issue noted by someone else.

(Please note that it won't just install buttons. You have to manually add to toolbar for them to work.)

Does what it says (you have to add the buttons to the toolbar).

I really don't like the icons; they make no sense at all.

Also, when moving next and previous, it doesn't move the highlight on the main window. That would be a great improvement.

Of all functionality issues, this is my greatest issue with Tbird, that there is no way to simply advance to the next message in the folder/inbox, whether or not it's been read.

I strongly wish this add-on rectified the problem. Unfortunately, it simply does not do what it's supposed to.
