PLZ update.....

- now it no longer works. This add-on has been busted since June. Really disappointed in these guys. I can't believe they would abandon such a popular and useful add-on. I really am shocked. Does anyone know an alternative one that is compatible with FF 5?

It works for the things I use it for. Add-on compatibility checking needs to be disabled, which can be done with Add-on Compatibility Reporter at https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ for example.

As a workaround if one of your add-ons won't install, Tell Firefox to stop checking the compatibility of all your add-ons. After you do this all your compatible extensions Should automatically work. Note: On some you MAY notice they are not working exactly the same. Most will though.
Naturally, doing so could put your system at risk but if you’re desperate to make an add-on work (like me), try this. I do/did for Every ver bump & all is well so far. That, or you can edit every .rdf file but that's a pain right?!
Type "about:config" without the " " in the address bar & hit enter....
Then right-click anywhere in the about:config list of settings & choose New, Boolean. When prompted, type extensions.checkCompatibility, press Enter. At the second prompt, select false & press Enter again.
Restart Fx. Bam! Done!
Hope this helps
FYI: Any custom changes you or your extensions make will be in bold in about:config

I used maybe 20% of the MR Tech Toolkit features of in FF3.6, I've found FF4 alternatives for most of them. Some are a bit better than their MRTT feature and some not quite as good - but they're all liveable with.
The only thing I've not found and that I miss is an equivalent of the MRTT's Add on Manager menu. Does anyone know of another extension that does a menu for Add Ons Manager similar to the one provided by MRTT.
I've always rated MRTT 4/5 star, precisely because it's like swiss army knife.
But I'm beginning to wonder if its not better to have many small add-ons each addressing a specific need, rather than a few swiss-army-knives/ jack-of-all-trades add-ons. Guess I'll see how I feel when MR Toolkit is released for FF4.

The tools are very useful, but the icons are a bit ugly, hope this could be improved.

For those who want to use it in Firefox 4 and cannot yet, don't bother begging! The author already knows and is working on it:
"Feature list below has not been fully updated for 4.0 release, update coming soon."

Brilliant extension with more useful functions than any other I've tried. And good news - I finally found the first early beta of the update for Firefox 4: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=669795&sid=30e64b14b9ae84a194fa85fd1de099de&start=645 Although according to the comments, it still needs a lot of work.

I don't think the extension developer intends to update it for FF4 There was a thread about it on Mozillazine... anyway no update since december 2009, that's more than a year. FF4 final is out in a few weeks from now, so I don't count on it.
