This add-on uses https://encrypted.google.com rather than https://www.google.com. That may not seem like a huge difference, but the encrypted.google address prevents data from being transmitted over http to advertisers/third-parties. All information is transmitted using https and nothing is sent without an SSL connection.

I've had no issues with this search add-on. I used to have Firefox manually configured to use this address, but thanks to the developer, I no longer have to do that.

I find that Google delivers better results than other engines for some searches, but I'm a privacy freak. This makes me feel *slightly* better about the Google's user data privacy. At least it uses SSL fully, which is more than the regular google.com does.
