Just works on my chaton hosting, using token auth. Would be nice to have different accounts on a per mail account basis.

Cannot detect any effect or menu selection or operating button. Do not recognize how to configure nextcloud account.
This is a FileLink Addon that does not add UI elements by itself. Please refer to the documentation at https://joendres.gitlab.io/filelink-nextcloud/#installation for help.
If that does not solve your problem, please feel free to contact me for further explanation.
If it does I'd be grateful for an update of your rating.

Thank you very much.

Love this plugin, it makes communication so much easier.
Suggestion for improvement I would *love* to see: Add a switch to enable/disable the HTML attachment so we can a) save 10 to 12 KB per email and b) allow text-only clients to not bother with HTML attachments

This add-on does exactly what it says it will do, and that's saying much already.
Additionally, I found it _does_ work with our MFA-protected Nextcloud installation, using a very secure mechanism, which surprised me even more.

Bravo! Took me less than 10 minutes to install, configure and use, sending a 12 Mb file! Even though I had not fully understood everything about passwords and tokens, it created its own token and used it.
Continue the great job.

This extension solves a problem I encoutered until today (2002-12-02) for linking big files with a Nextcloud account on zaclys.com.
Thank you very much.
Best regards

Unfortunately, there is a problem with the encoding of Polish characters generated in the HTML file/attachment added to the message after uploading the file to the server using the add-on.
An example below (the text is virtually unreadable):
"Plik filename.pdf zosta=undefined2 za=undefined2=undefined5czony jako odno=undefinedBnik do serwisu przechowywania plikw. Mo=undefinedCna go pobra=undefined7 za pomoc=undefined5 poni=undefinedCszego odno=undefinedBnika."
Hello, thanks for the information. Is this really a problem with the Add-On *cloud or with the Add-On for Plik (as the word appears in the message)? Could you please mail more detailled information to cloud@johannes-endres.de? Information on the versions of Thunderbird, the Add-On, Nextcloud/ownCloud, your operating system and any other information on the problem would help to solve it. Thanks.

I love this extension and have been using it for several years. On the other hand, I regret that there is still no way to customize it further. In particular, the fact that you have to write by hand that the links are only valid for 7 days is annoying. A bug had been open for a long time (I participated in it), it is now closed but nothing has changed or I don't know how to activate these changes....
Hi Steph-BzH,
thanks for the reminder, there is an open issuefor this feature https://gitlab.com/joendres/filelink-nextcloud/-/issues/219 I have an idea how to implement it, but I still can't promise when it will bie implemented. I'm the only person contributing code to*cloud and this is my spare time project. And currently I don't have enough spare time to work on it. Sorry.

Very handy. Works like a charm with two different Nextcloud servers.

Like trhe plugin, although it would be nice to have the option to either download the attachment or link to it to open within Nextcloud & ownCloud as this would be great for videos.

I find this addon very useful. I used to create a link manually on a "DL" server, which takes more time. I think I will recommend it to my collegues.
I could not make *cloud work with an Owncloud server owned by my employer (too old version) and Mr Endres answered very quickly to my help request. Finally I found another server (Nextcloud) and now it is perfect!
Thank you.

PLEASE allow to choose from settings, whether there will be added "/download" to end of URL or not. Currently there will be link like this: example.com/index.php/s/hash/download
Even there is a file, that can be viewed online via link example.com/index.php/s/hash, it has to be downloaded in order to view it. It is quite annoying to save all the time attachments, when in most cases people would like to just view and that's all.
This will cause all attachments are downloaded somewhere, where they probably should not be. E.g. people are reading sometimes email in foreign computer but they have to download in order to see the attachment. Do they delete that downloaded file? Possibly not. People may forgot also and it is very human-like behaviour. Some people are beginners and can't even find the place, where downloaded file were saved.
This forcible download is especially dangerous policy in GDPR era. Most people don't know, that they can remove the "/download" in the end of URL in order to view directly online. Why should users do manual work, if it can be done automatically. Why then offer such link in email, that cannot be clicked directly to view directly in web browser.
I understand, that some users may prefer forcible download and therefore that should be configurable, so users can decide themselves.
So - PLEASE do not force people to download the attachments! This would increase all our safety, when possibly sensitive files will not be downloaded forcibly.
Without "/download" in the end still the file can be downloaded, if decided so as Nextcloud is offering that option.
E.g. new version of Thunderbird is now offering even built-in PDF-viewer in order to avoid downloading attachments and PDF is very common file type. Most common files are viewable in browser and if not, download button is always there in Nextcloud.
Hi Edmund,
thanks for your feature suggestion. The current behavior is the result of user requests: The link that did *not* start the download immediately was confusing to many.
But I like the idea to make it configurable.
It would be helpful to send feature requests to the support email address. You'd then receive updates on implementation by email.
Regards, Johannes
