Just to inform all of you that I contacted the author who told me that he doesn't use TB anymore and does not intend to update this extension for TB 68+

Due to the large number of requests from users, Calendar Tweaks has been updated to be compatible with Thunderbird 68 and Lightning 68.
Calendar Tweaks 8.0 is fully compatible with Thunderbird 68 and Lightning 68. This new version retains all of the original features and includes some minor improvements and bug fixes.
Calendar Tweaks 8.0 has been submitted to the Thunderbird team for review and should be released in a week or so.

I LOVED this add on but it no longer works with Thunderbird v68.*.* I hope they can get it going again. I really need this.

Served me well coloring the calender entires in the view, so I had "ornage" for important meetings, "blue" for business ...
Now with the upgrade to Thunderbird / Lighting 68.0 the entries are still colored, but the descriptive text is gone!

Very valuable addon!!! Please keep going!!
I got only one suggestion for an upcoming release: Would be really nice to show multipe day events as a "spanning" event without borders for each day...
Thank you very much!!

I like it, but I would really like it if Calendar Tweaks either replaced or at least colorized the black and white svg - icons and checkmarks, etc. used throughout various Calendar windows and dialog boxes.

I'm pleased that someone figured out that Lightning/Calendar needed to be tweaked. Unfortunately, the most glaring defect is still there. I'm talking about the disconnect between 'Tasks' and 'Events'.
I need an e-calendar to track the things I have to do on a given date at a given time. (I almost never need to track the date/time of an 'Event'.) So, I create a task, save it, and then it disappears. In order to see it, I have to open the Tasks Tab, and all I get is a todo list.
Apparently, the authors of the original Lightning app determined that 'Tasks' don't need to appear in a calendar view. So, when it comes to looking at a display of what you need to get done in a given week, if you want something to show up in the calendar, you have to call it an 'Event' -- which makes absolutely no sense.
So, if the people behind the Calendar Tweaks want to do something to dramatically improve the Calendar app, add the ability to display a calendar view which includes Tasks & Events. (Or if thats too hard, just provide a Calendar view in the 'Tasks' tab.)
Thanks in advance !;)

I love Calendar Tweaks, but unfortunately v 7.1 still doesn't fix a major problem/bug that has persisted since Thunderbird went to version 60. When I create an event that spans several days (e.g. absence on holiday or a trip), with Calendar Tweaks enabled the event shows only on the first day, with multiple entries cluttering up the all-day events section at the top of the day panel (in Week View). If I disable Calendar Tweaks, the event displays correctly with one entry for each day that the event lasts.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.1). This user has a previous review of this add-on.Have re-tested, but cannot reproduce this problem.
Events spanning several days are correctly displayed with:
- the Calendar shows an event box on each of the spanned days
- the Today Panel shows an entry for each of the spanned days
Do you have any other add-ons installed?
Please can you send screenshots of your settings in the Calendar Tweaks Options dialog (all three tabs) to: dw-dev@gmx.com

Hello, your addon creates an issue after editing an event: it changes the first line displayed in Month and Multi-Week views.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1444069 for more details.

I applied color options as below.
Header box is gray and
Today box is red and
Selected day box is blue.
So, the feeling is good!

Das Add-on macht genau das, wonach ich gesucht habe: Die Termine werden mit den Farben der Kategorien angezeigt.

I installed the 'Calendar Tweaks' for folder event colors and it shows in the menu, but that's it. There is not way to access colors for the events.
This would be a nice to have feature to differentiate event/meeting types.
Calendar Tweaks 6.3 works fine with Thunderbird 52 and Lightning 5.4.
Every event in Lightning can be colored by the event category color and by the owning calendar color.
The owning calendar color can be changed by right-clicking on the calendar in the left sidebar and selecting Properties from the context menu.
The event category colors can be changed by selecting Tools > Options > Calendar tab > Categories tab.
Normally, the owning calendar color is applied to most of the event background, with the event category color applied to a narrow vertical bar on the right side of the event.
With Calendar Tweaks installed, the colors can be interchanged, so that the event category color is applied to most of the event background, with the owning calendar color applied to a narrow vertical bar on the right side of the event.
Selecting Tools > Calendar Tweaks Options... provides numerous options for changing the display of the calendars and events.

After applying the Thunderbird 55.0b2 update the Calendar in Montly and Multiweek view are no longer working. Disabling the Calendar Tweaks plugin all works again.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.3).This problem is caused by updates to the calendar bindings in Thunderbird 55.0b2.
This means that modifications will have to be made to the corresponding bindings in Calendar Tweaks.
This is quite a lot of work and so won't be done until a final (stable) beta version is available.

Thank you for making this excellent extension!
I have a suggestion to make it even better.
For remote calendars Lightning offers few options for calendar refreshing frequency (sync); it includes "every 30 minutes, 60 minutes or manual". Thunderbird freeze every time a calendar is syncing e such every 60 minutes frequency is totally unsuitable for most calendars, like holiday calendars, that hardly change.
Can you tweak to include additional refreshing options, like:
every 3 hours
every 6 hours
every 12 hours
once a day
every 2 days
once a week
every 2 weeks
once a months
The way to do it is shown here:
