There can be no sustainable sense of purpose for our life, until we are consigned to its limits, aligned with its direction, and in agreement with its course.
Just as a contract has no real force until it is signed by two parties in agreement with its terms, requirements, and mutual expectations, so it is with life. We can't expect to experience the joys of life, without our, first, choosing to live a life of responsibility beyond the self. And, it's never too late to participate while we are still breathing. But when that changes, and we are translated from this sphere of influence, into the next, what we have said and done remain for all time.
Therefore, live responsibly, even when it seems hopeless.
Why?
Remember, sometimes the choicest of fruit grows in the shade. In its obscurity, out of the heat of direct sunlight, and the reach of passing children, it can ripen to the perfection which the responsible farmer intended.
