My Reviews

TbSync

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I use tbsync for my gmail accounts. Works well though I do find the method of sending email to a group (aka list) slightly complex i.e. having to bring up the address book first etc. I'm thinking of switching to another email provider - mailbox.org. Does tbsync support their use?

Remove Duplicate Messages

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When one selects the top folder if using gmail (i.e. the folder containing all the other message folders), then the addon shows duplicates for all/many messages. This is because all/many messages have duplicates on Gmail's server (e.g. in the All Mail or Important folders). It would be good if there was a checkbox to ignore the Gmail (server) folder. This could be in the General Settings tab for Preferences. Also, it would be helpful if the attributes columns for the messages could contain an indicator showing whether an attachment is present on a message. This is because of a fault in Thunderbird for Gmail (and possibly other imap email) which results in there being 2 copies of a message when a message has its attachments detached: one copy is of the original message still containing attachment(s) and the other copy contains the message without attachment(s).

Provider for Google Calendar

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I was not able to delete my calendar (i.e. as accessed by Lightning) as the delete menu option was grayed out. However, by adding a task list to the calendar, it then gave me the option of deleting the calendar, which I did: looks like a bug in Lightning. I then selected the New Calendar menu option etc and the calendar returned in Thunderbird.

Provider for Google Calendar

Still not working under Ubuntu 14.04 using Provider 1.02 & Lightning 3.3.1. It's showing a blank calendar for past, current & future events. However, when I add a future event directly using the Google Calendar under Firefox, it shows that event.

Provider for Google Calendar

It wasn't working under Ubuntu 14.04. Then it started working again after an update of the Provider to 1.02. For the last few days it's stopped working again.

Batch Copy

This needs a sync facility as it's a pain to have to delete messages on the local folders as well as the imap account.

I think that I may have spoken too soon re a bug. If I add a contact which I then place in a group (such as Family), then uploading the contact to remote (i.e. on Google's Contacts) takes place on Sync. However, updating of the Family group on remote only takes place if 'Local changes have priority over remote changes' is not ticked (i.e. wrong way round). BTW I have 'Groups and contacts to synchronize' set to 'All groups and contacts' and have clicked 'Find all groups'.

I've sorted out my incorrect usage of this addon. So my questions of the 12 December don't apply. One thing I don't understand is the comment of read-only mode against the local Google Contacts when I sync after updating contacts locally.
