We rely on this very good extension to access archives of our past employees' emails--unfortunately since it's not compatible with the new Thunderbird we've been unable to use it. I've tried using the new beta (the 10th version) but when I attempt to import the mbox, nothing happens. Happy to correspond over email about the issues I'm having if it helps you update the extension to work again!

I do wish this were a default feature in Thunderbird! It'd be so wonderful if they incorporated this.

Thanks!
Update : I think I found the problem, look for b11

Definitely would like to get your issue resolved b10 should be a solid for mbox. would it be possible to go to the repository issues? it's important to track things there:
https://github.com/thundernest/import-export-tools-ng/issues/143
first thing to do is describe OS/TB versions and exactly what you are trying to do (source of e-mails et cetera)

Absolute disaster. Installed, ran, script crashed. Upon restarting Thunderbird all accounts/emails gone - unrestorable. Have lost several years of emails. This thing wouldn't let me submit without a star rating hence the one star.

That's very troubling, sorry for the issues.
Can we troubleshoot this in the repository?
I am not sure 'What operation you were doing when this happened.

Hello Christopher, when will the Thunderbird 78 version be available? I updated before checking compatibility and, now, I would not go back. My Thunderbird is 78.1.1. Thank you for your contribution.

Forgive me, I've seen the comments below and I understand you're working on it. Your add-on is beautiful! I use it to back up my emails. It works much better than the thunderbird built-in backup, at least until version 68.

Domenico.

Export emails to csv is very valuable to me. It allows to maintain undelivered messages sent by notification system. CSV can be easy used in other program to search for unique addressee.
Extraordinary tool! Can't wait till new version is ready to install on 78 TB :)

I like ImportExportTools NG very much, due to making accessible group correspondence that Yahoo has given up on storing ...

I look forward to the update of this add-on for T-78. Like yesterday - When I upgraded from 68 to 78 I wanted to revert to 68 right away - but profiles are no more compatible.

Dude, love(d) this extension! Looking forward to your update. Cannot understand why this is not an integral part of Thunderbird (hope they are read these...). They should pay you for the work you've done and integrate it.

Thanks for the very nice review and comments!
Actually I am part of the Thunderbird team and the plan when I finally have time is for me to bring the functionality internally. I have to do a lot of rewriting and I would like first to try to get this 78 compatible.
Cheers

Thanks! Rest assured, I will be updating for 78, and I just have to circle around my other extensions first with their current issues. Look at the repository . every once in a while I will post progress.

Excellent!

I accidentally deleted my previous contacts address book.

Thank you SO much, this great plug in has allowed me to easily extract 900 emails from sent messages, which I can now back up and use.

First of all, thank you for this great add-on!

When I export a IMAP remote folder (in any formats: mbox, ecc.), replied and forwarded statuses of every emails are not saved (when I re-import the folder as a local one, blue and orange arrows are missing, and X-Mozilla-Status is set to 0001). I searched in the add-on github page (and over the Internet) but I couldn't find useful information about backing up IMAP replied and forwarded flags, so maybe there is something I'm missing.

Thank you again!

I read the installation instructions on your GitHub page to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong (it's hard to screw up installing an extension) but in the Thunrderbird Menu Bar under Tools there's no extra options after installing the extension. Nothing changes whether it's installed or not. If I have an old version of Thunderbird and the old version of this extension the extra menu options are there under Tools, but all import options are grayed out.
I'm running Thunderbird 68.10.0 (latest) and I have tried installing the extension direction from the Add-Ons store, and from the XPI file from GitHub—same results, there's no added menu options in the Tools menu.
On your GitHub page under Brief Usage Instructions there's a part that says "You may have to enable the Menu Bar from Preferences to make it display", but there's no 'preferences' menu option that I can find in Thunderbird.

K
This really is a question not a review.
Have you looked at the help that describes the menu options?
import options appear when you right-click on a folder that allows imports. typically local folders

Please help! I used the plugin to export my mails form a pop account, tried to import it to a imap account, but it only imports the sent folder, and not the inbox folder. The export inbox file is 1.3gb, so it's ok. I tried "import messages" and "import all messages - ...also from subdirectory" but it doesn't work. What else can i try?
