Is there any way to let it choose random?

@flippy Don't just sit there like an idiot once you can't find how to operate
Go to the add-on's suuport page
e-mail the developer
Go look in "customize" and you will see a button.
Everything doesn't have to be in the menu to be usable.

Useless add-on. It does not add an icon to your menu bar. No instructions, not anything at all to operate. So unless you're already a pro, don't touch this thing.

....ziemlich cool !

No idea why there are negative reviews. It works out-of-box for me on Mac/Win with FF 31.

Kept turning itself off, or back to the default (my true user agent string) which defeated my purpose.

Tried to reset the UA string via this utility. Then tried to enter FF options to clear cookies and cache as is recommended. Browser locked. Had to kill it with the Program Manager. Repeat sequence - results in locked browser. Had to remove the utility then reboot to get rid of this problem. As another user noted, there is no general.useragent.override in my config:about settings. 0 stars for software that is not updated but still has a request for payment.
The separately loaded strings for additional browser options are (1) hard to find, it's not obvious this is needed and (2) is NOT up to date - it stops at FF 25. That doesn't help when trying to force Hotmail to accept that my FF is actually up to date because the latest version is 31. I don't know how out of date the rest of the entries are, but I'm sure none of the other browser choices are any better.
BTW, going into about:config and creating the entry general.useragent.override and setting it to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 works perfectly to get me into hotmail without getting those stupid overlook errors (MS doesn't recognize ESR release as valid release and assumes hotmail won't work with it - even though it does). So - this is a case where doing it by hand saves a lot of time and effort when compared to trying to use an out-of-date utility. (creating a specific list entry in this utility to make up for the fact that the .xml file with browser UA strings is also out of date did not result in success, as there is something wrong in this utility that bolluxes the entire browser)

Really good extension.
A must have, if you want to increase anonymity.
Suggestion: Make last choice "permanent" between sessions (if desired).
Thank you!

I'm running Firefox 25.0 on Windows XP SP3.
My purpose: to spoof my XP op system as Vista, because some websites may refuse to connect to XP after April 8, 2014. Some banks have already given notice that they're sunsetting XP after that date.
After installation of this add-on there was no icon or menu available to switch anything. I had to find it in the Customize box and drag it to a toolbar. I could find no instructions so had to google and try to figure it out on my own. Then I decided to venture trying to create a new useragent string, although there's no way to know for sure if I have the syntax right. It tested OK but wouldn't stick after restarting browser, so I had to put useragentswitcher.reset.onclose=false into about:config. That causes no apparent problems despite the warning, and I use java regularly. Also there is no general.useragent.override in my prefs.js file. And clicking on import useragent list does nothing, no action whatsoever.
So this add-on has insufficient, incorrect, and out-of-date details. That's not surprising because the build date is January 2011, more than 3 years ago. Please update, and if possible make it available for SeaMonkey as well as Firefox! I'm quitting Firefox soon, 25.0 will be my final version, no Australis junk for me.
Bottomline, it seems to work, but I wouldn't bet on it working tomorrow. So on second thought, I'll probably only use this with a portable browser, not my primary installed browser. That will make it a sort of backup when my regular browser fails. I keep portable copies of chrome, opera, etc just for that purpose.

Add the TO-DO features and it will be the best addon related to Firefox user-agent.
