I used this to export the filters from one T-bird account to another T-bird account. It worked perfectly. I had no problems. Great tool! Thank you!

Man, did THIS save me some time! Works great!
I have 19 different email accounts across several domains. One of my filters for each is one moves the message to a folder called "Archive" within each account. When you initially build the filter, you have to select the "fully qualified" destination folder, e.g. "Archive on xxxxx@yyyy.com". The Import Filters routine was smart enough to change that based on the account it was importing into.
It seems like it might be a pain to have to restart Thunderbird each time you import filters, but it only takes a couple second.
Thanks for this!! I'm sure I'll be using it again (and again...).

I wanted to transfer my mail rules for IMAP account from WinXP to Vista. All that I was able to do is to export the rules into file.
Unfortunately, it just do nothing when I try to import them on my Vista. I also tried to export some rules on Vista but all the generated files were empty.

I use IMAP folders and the import worked fine for me
The computer I was importing into had no existing rules, so can't comment on whether it was destructive or not.
Thanks.

I downloaded this add-on to export my filters NOT to DELETE them!!! What a stupid design!?

I've started using IMAP instead of POP to get email, so my filters which were for Local Folders no longer apply. I tried to export them using this tool and import them into the IMAP acocunt. That didn't work because the folders didn't exist. I tried manually editing the exported filters to make them like one I'd changed using the GUI, but couldn't import them then. :(

May need polishing, but did exactly what I expected it to do.

I was just trying to keep my filters in synch between one account & the next and the Import deleted any filters in the imported to account.
Need to have a merge or replace option!

It doesn't work very well. Export and import are in two different places, and it isn't very clear on what it is actually doing. It actually erased some of my filters, when all I was trying to do was get some filters from account A to account B, it erased the ones I already had on Account B.
Just tried the new version. It STILL deletes filters that exist upon import. This is very stupid, it should merge imported filters, not destroy all your existing filters in the process.
Thankfully I backed up this time before trying this extension.
