Perfect. Now I can have my imap account and still start in my global inbox.

The kind of module, you wonder why it does not come with thunderbird from the start....

This extension would be much better if it integrated with the existing interface for configuring accounts, instead of forcing one to go to the extension prefs. Either there could be buttons up and down in account configuration dialog, or some drag&drop mechanism.

Worked first time, very simple and very useful.
You do need to know that it works via clicking "options" under Tools > Addons> Folderpane.
Saves a lot of very fiddly and frustrating work manually tweaking the config files, and should be build into Thunderbird.

First of all, it's odd that the download button attempts to install this add-on into Firefox.

So:

#1, do as chuonthis says and right-click, save as and do a manual install within Thunderbird.

#2 You'll notice there's no drop-down menu for this. You have to go to Tools > Add-Ons, click on the extension, then click on its Preferences button.

#3 Although when I first did this, I STILL didn't see anything. I noticed in my Windows drop-down menu two additional items: a) "Folderpane Tools Options" selection (which didn't work) and b) a blank line.

#4 Click on the blank line. It should make a confirmation alert window appear. Click 'OK'.

#5 If the Folderpane Tools Options window still doesn't automatically show, go back to your Windows drop-down menu and then select it.

Hope this helps.

Sloppy, but useful.

*NB If you uninstall this add-on, your folders will remain in their altered position. If you want to "revert" to your old order, you need to do this from within Folderpane prior to uninstalling.

THis is handy & easy to use. Worked without any problems. 8 pop accounts, 4 news servers and RSS could be re-sorted to be much more painless. Together with quickfolders its really useful for minimizing all the scrolling.

Did what it should. I was hoping I could use it to re-order the folders in the favorites view, but I couldn't.

Thanks for the added functionality that, as others here have said, should be built into Thunderbird. Please keep up development. It's a MUST HAVE add-on!

MacOSX, FF3, TB2 and I can't get the preferences open nor see any default effect after having installed it.

Must be a problem with my set up I guess. Hmm.

Folderpane Tools is a very useful add-on. I really like it. Finally, I can arrange my accounts in the folder pane in a sequence that makes sense to me.

I agree with the others: This should standard functionality in Thunderbird.

Great Add-on ! Worked perfectly. As a newbie to Firefox and Thunderbird I don't understand previous comment regarding FF3 ? I have FF3 and TB2 and it worked fine. Anyway, good job !

Buggy, but, you'll eventually get the results your looking for. Worthy of 5 stars just for thinking of it and getting it done. Nice job.

..ext'n that's just simple and awesome all rolled into one. This "should be a TB default option". But since it isn't, many thanks to you for developing 'Folderpane Tools'. Outstanding! Please keep this one around and up-to-date, at least 'til you can talk TB developers into incorporating it as a built in feature. ;)
