It is so good to find folders so quickly and easy and move messages in such a easy way.

This tool is probably the one I use most because I have a folder tree with more than 400 folders.

The only missing feature is the possibility to copy a whole folder in another folder (including all messages and subfolders) the same way as copying a message in a folder.

This tool makes message filing and folder look up so much faster and easier, and it now works in single message pane too.

Just press Alt-Q and start typing some letters from you target folder and bingo, you wanted target folder gets selected and ENTER and your message is filed the right place. And it remembers the last used folder next time so you don't have to type again.

Just press Alt-R and write a few letters from a folder name you want to go to, and bingo it is selected, ENTER and you are placed in that folder with your wanted messages. Nice!

Outlook can't even search in folder or sub-folder names.
Thank you Eivind.

Thanks Eivind !!!!

I have updated the add-on and now I can use it again in TB24.
I have to say this is the tb plugin I use the most and it is a precious part of my configuration of TB.
Really makes my life much easier ...
THANKS!!!

For me this is an indispensable extension, now integral to my use of Thunderbird. I don't want to imagine managing mail without it. My only complaint, [update: doesn't exist!, see developer response] <strike>a small one, is that the dialog is too narrow to show long folder names (think nested).</strike>

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.1).

You can resize the Quicker Filer dialog to your liking and the size will be stored for next time, even over restarts of TB.

Love this --- rediscovering Thunderbird and needed an alternative to MsgFiler for Apple and SimplyFile for Outlook/PC.

Only problem is I couldn't create a short cut that used a DIGIT rather than a letter. I wanted to use ALT-9 (just because that's how I had the other two filers configured) but Quicker Filer only seems to allow letter combinations.

Also, the dialog width needs to be much longer so you can see the actual selection when you have nested folders.

I'll add digits for the next version. The dialog you can easily resize and the new size will be stored and used the next time the dialog is recalled.

I happened upon this add-on accidentally -- didn't even know that such a tool exists. After using it for 5 minutes, I could already tell it's indispensable (for someone with lots of folders, like me)!

This add-on saves me untold time every hour of every workday. I couldn't use TBird effectively without it. The developer is very responsive to questions and comments and keen to keep the add-on updated, functional, and available. A real life-saver!

Very easy to quickly file messages that you don't want to archive. Now I never have to use the mouse in Thunderbird!

A feature request:
It would be great to be able to select unified folders (namely the unified "Inbox") with the "Select Folder" shortcut.

Thanks for your great work!

Hi!
I might be slightly disqualified since the eminent programmer is my brother in law. But anyway. I do find this very useful too.
Keep on the good work.

Very nice, can't live without it. One minor bug: the default size of the popup window is much too narrow for deeply nested folders. You can enlarge it though, and it remembers the new size.

Archive This does MOVE better as it tells you which keys conflict with TB already assigned

But I did want COPY so tried Quicker Filer. I set up Letter X and Z with Copy and Instant Copy and when clicked a blank (well so fast unreadable but looks blank) message window flashes past and the email itself is MOVED to the folder not COPIED

Otherwise I'd like it

Very Nice app, can't work without it ! Thank's very much to Eivind Rovik !

Would be nice to have the following as well:
1. use of space caracter as any caracter in filer dialog
2. Ability to create folders in filer dialog if none match the search criteria.

These features worked very well in previous release (quickfile, but not compatible with Thunderbird 3.x)

Nice app!
It would be just great to be able to navigate to a folder in the same manner as used when filing an email into a folder, i.e. with a short cut.

Thanks for the additions -- it's great to see the extra function added. Unfortunately the instant move doesn't work for me. I've set it to move messages to a local folder, but when I hit the appropriate hot key a dialog pops up for a very brief instant, and the message isn't moved to the local folder. The same happens -- or, rather, doesn't happen -- for instant copy.
