Absolutely the worst, DO NOT USE. Deleted all the attachments on my emails and didn't even successfully download them. Now they are GONE. I didn't even realize this would be a possible outcome of using this terrible attachment.

Even if the messages are duplicated in Thunderbird after extraction of their attachments, this is still a very useful and time saving tool.
Thanks

Hasn't been updated for ~half a year, currently duplicates emails when trying to delete attachments requiring the user to manually delete emails 1 by 1. Manually deleting content 1 email by 1 email is the task I was trying to avoid!

Messes up your inbox by duplicating and possibly deleting attachments. DO NOT USE in production environment!

I really enjoyed this extension. However, sometime not too long ago, Thunderbird incorporated the ability to both Detach and Delete attachments natively, right-clicking on them and following through. The additional customization this allows may help some.

It seems this addon was written for 102.5.1 exactly. I just went from 102.9.1 to 102.5.1 just to see if this works and it works perfectly on 102.5.1. I like this addon so much that now I stay at 102.5.1

It doesn't always do what it's supposed to do, though it's close enough to be hazardous.
First, when extracting attachments it creates a duplicate of the email with the attachments present. No big deal, simply delete the duplicate, right?
Second, it doesn't always save the files to the folder as instructed. Sometimes it deletes the attachment from the email without saving.
I'm not sure if this is Thunderbird's fault for loading slowly, or if I tried to do too many emails at once or what, but it's a fatal error in a plugin that almost works. Otherwise it's very close to being perfect, and it's still the only way I've found to take large attachments off of old emails.

Fonctionne très bien avec TB version 102.8.0. Je n'avais jamais essayé cette extension avant. Merci The_stonehead !
Si on pouvait faire un lien avec des filtres, ce serait génial!
If we could use it with filter it could be essential in TB... Thank!

It does just what it says, but it needs some polishing. Final window is a bit confusing with "Cancel" as a option.

Seems to work with v.102.8.0 but there is much less options than in previous versions, in particular the ways to name the attachment (date format, #from# disappeared...).
Are you putting it back ?
So useful this Add-on

Le module n'est malheureusement plus compatible avec les dernières version de thunderbird.
C'est pourtant un outil utile pour alléger le stockage

Good Add-on. Suggestion - Please add new feature to this extractor - Extract Attachment on running filters on incoming emails.
If you get an email with attachment - you can specify on filters - then the attachment will be stored into your selected folder automatically.

I am using Thunderbird v. 102.4.2 (64-bit) and this attachment seems to be completely incompatible with it. It just doesn't work at all. :(

An extremely useful add-on when you have multiple messages with attachments that you want to extract at one time.
One caveat - when using the utility, unless you want to remove the attachment from the email do not select the delete option.

this is kind of dangerous!
I selected ~100 Mails and wanted to extract the attachments.
1. No dialog appeared.
2. The Attachments were marked as deleted and i have no access to them
But:
3. The message-size hasn't changed, so the attachments are still there.
So I hve no attachments, and no size-reduction of my folders
And NO CHANCE TO DO THAT IN FUTURE!

No es util, y peligrosa, borra los archivos al extraer y no es capaz de procesar lotes grandes de correo. Se bloquea. no Sirve.

Almost perfect, a couple of things to fix.
1. when an attachment has the pound sign # in its name, it does not download it nor continue with the following files.
2. when lots of files are selected it does nothing.
3. when several files are selected you can´t see the cancel button, so i have to pres Esc key and I feel a little nervous because delete button is very easy to press by mistake.

Dangerous and unuseful and make mess. Ok, it work and you can extract attachments. But this add-on make a copy-email of the every message: original, but also same email with "deleted attachment". If you have hundred mails, after use you will waste many days delete this mess away.
Do not use this add-on.
