Great Add-on. Unfortunately not officially compatible with Firefox 3.5 but I manually bumped the max version to 3.5 and it worked perfectly for me.

Ever since Gmail Notifier got real dead, I've been using Gmail Manager and it's more than enough. The options in this add-on far surpass Notifier. Even if not all of them are applicable to me, it's great knowing they're there. I keep telling myself I'm going to set up my multiple gmail accounts to it, but somehow continue to elude. I recommend this add-on to anyone with a gmail account, especially those who are consistently checking it!

A terrific extension, a staple in my add-on collection. Only two drawbacks: 1) it takes longer to check inbox than actually loading the gmail web page (which displays new messages).
2) 3 months since an update (as of this writing), so still no firefox 3.5 support

AMAZING App! I've waited for an app like this to come along for YEARS! Just one thing... REMEMBER TO ENTER YOUR EMAIL IN USING ALL LOWERCASE LETTERS!! Both when you first create it, AND in your Alias. ALL LOWERCASE! Other then this, this app is a god-send. :)

One of the most practical add-ons! Very handy for people with more than one gmail-account.
Just installed and tested - so do not take my word regarding longterm stability, though...

This was exactly what I was looking for... a way to check my Gmail occasionally without having to open a new tab every 10 minutes.

The program used to work flawlessly but has recently had a problem with switching accounts. If I'm looking at a window with the inbox for one account and click the gmail manager icon to see the inbox for another account, Firefox displays an error window. The second time I click the gmail manager icon for the other account, everything works fine. Given the rest of the program's functionality and all its other great features, it's still great and is my preferred gmail account management program. It's just not as good as it used to be.

I love this add-on and have used it for several years, even when I only have one account to check. The past couple of days, however, it's been on the fritz - the icon never settles down, keeps trying to log in, to no avail - so it never stops being the little circle of gray dots to become a red or blue envelope...

I like this add-on a lot-- use it all the time. I have to say, however, that it is rarely working 100% correctly. If it's not displaying 0 unread messages (which is never true for me), it's mixing up my two accounts (right now they both have the same message count and subject listing) or something else odd.
In the vein of suggestions, I would love a feature where only the titles of unread e-mails in the Inbox are shown on mouseover.

I like Gmail manager more than every other mail checker I've tested, coz' it's the one that shows the more about received mails (various accounts) in the less intrusive manner.
Am testing Shiretoko (FF 3.5) and already missing Gmail manager. Hope I won't have to keep using Gmail Notifier which much much less useful!

I have been using this for a couple of years. I manage several accounts. I can quickly see if I have any new mail. Rarely a problem.

Excellent add-on,does everything you could want it to if you dive into the options and have a look around.
'Danvm',you might want to try that,as this addon does indeed do what you say it doesn't.

Fix for beta users:
Ignore version check -> Save link as a xpi. Open the xpi file with 7Zip/WinRAR whatever. Then edit the install.rdf file. On the bottom there will be something like max version. Adjust it to 3.*.
Save the changes into the archive/xpi file. Open it with Firefox -> Voila! Compatibility check passed.
Works for every addon!!

It's a good application but I still like Gmail Notifier. Gmail Manager needs to reset the unread count when clicked on.

new firefox update appears to have broken the app. Please check this.
