Always been satisfied, only now I can't print out the vein book, since new version think send an email done 2 times and you just don't get an answer, so I won't give a donation, especially if people don't bother to do that, in the past you first got a screen with what data should do that, then you could print it out nicely, but unfortunately there will be a white screen

During the migration i encountered some issues (stuck at Migration cardbookIDBCard 2/8) and the developers help me.

Very enthusiastic about Cardbook!
Nice AddOn!
Up to and including version 97.7, autocomplete and sync with Google Contacts work. With the version(s) after that, it doesn't work for me. So I'll stay on this version (I went back to).
I have good hope that this will be solved, because this addon is well maintained.

First: the support website "cardbook.icu" doesn`t exist. Second: the information on "https://gitlab.com/CardBook/CardBook" is many years old. Third: the releases on "https://gitlab.com/CardBook/CardBook/-/releases" are 6 years (!!!) old. So there is no way to check the source code and no recent information about this addon. That, combined with migration problems upgrading from one cardbook release to another I can only give this addon one star.

I agree with the review by @Nicholas Jesson. I have the same issue in BetterBird 128.6.1 esr x64bit with Cardbook 98.7 on Windows 11 24H2

I have been a long-time Cardbook user and I am quite satisfied. Thank you for this great plugin.
The recent update has introduced an issue. I am using Windows 11, Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit), and Cardbook 97.7.
The problem that has just shown up with the latest update is that any content in the Organization or Title fields is now appended to the Display Name. There does not appear to be a way to choose whether this behaviour is preferred.
I see that there is also a button to disable the generation of the display name. I still want to generate the display name, but only using the Prefix, Given Name, Other Name, Family Name, and Suffix.
I discovered the "Template" feature, but it is not possible to set a default template. Every time I change a field, it reverts to the original template. Besides, I have 6500 contacts in my Cardbook, I don't intend to select the template every time that I edit a card.

this addon was great - until it stopped working within betterbird, a thunderbird fork. Must be a mistake by AddOn maintainers afais

This add-on has been fantastic, up until the update on 1st December 2024. I'm no longer able to export contacts in .vcf format. A couple of dialogue boxes pop open, and then promptly disappear. More than happy to help get to the bottom of this, if you need any further information. CardBook is displaying version 97.7, last updated 1st December 2024. Thunderbird version 128.5.2esr (64-bit).

Doesn't work for me (Kubuntu 24.04).
I cannot add any adressbooks. I cannot add any URL. The function does just nothing.

As I have to manage a honorary organisation with some 160 members, I use lists of my members to address them specifically. E.g. i have a list for the members of the executive board, a list of the members of the extended board, a list of interested members, etc.
I used to have a list of these lists when I wanted to address them all. But it looks like that is not possible anymore since around 8 months or so... Is there a description what I seem to miss?
In any case, it would be a very cool feature to have again...

Schade, dass Cardbook seit ein paar Tagen nicht mehr mit Betterbird funktioniert. Ich kann daher nicht mehr auf meine Kontakte zugreifen und keine Weihnachtsgrüße versenden.
Bitte reparieren.

I was using Cardbook for quite some time with Betterbird, but now it is incompatible due to the Qucikfilter issues. I wish, the co-existence with Betterbird can be restored.

It's a pitty that CardBook doesn't work on Betterbird. That means that the quickfilter in Betterbird doesn't work if this AddOn is activated.
