Great idea!

Would be nice to have it work on folders of Local Folders (FF102/macOS it does not).

Also, for those of us who filter on incoming and who start work with mails in folders other than inbox, it would be great to be able to select *any* folder, including virtual folders.

The new version 3.1.2 now can handle deferred accounts, e.g. if incoming mails are directed to the inbox under Local Folders.

This new version 2.5.2 adds an excellent feature : focus on the first unread message of the inbox of the account you have chosen for the Thunderbird'sstartup.
This addon now offers very complete start possibilities to be able to read your messages without clicking several times or pressing the Tab key many times.
It is also perfect for people who cannot use a mouse and who work exclusively with a keyboard. A big step for accessibility to blind people.
It deserves a rating of 6 out of 5!

Please can you update to woek with 102.2 and with a Unified Inbox.

Nice extension to have an accessibility friendly behavior in Thunderbird.
i cannot set the focus as I wish but it is thanks to Debian Buster which has not enough recent version of Thunderbird.

Dear Patrick,
Which Thunberdird version and which Add-on version do you use?
If you use the Add-on version 2.3.0, in the Options you can choose if the focus should be set on the folder or on the last message.
