Eigentlich ein ganz wichtiges und segensreiches Tool. Wenn es denn funktionieren würde. Bei größeren Mailordnern oder auch über mehrere Stufen funktioniert es nur manchmal. Und manchmal funktioniert es nicht einmal in einem durchaus überschaubaren Ordner. Insofern gibt es zwei Sterne für die Idee, aber nicht mehr.

Après un crash disque, thunderbird à retélécharger plus de 3000 mails en doubles... cette merveilleuse extension m'a bien aidé !

Additional menu, but nothing happens.
After some time the menu is starting to work and shows a "no duplicates found" - no matter what options and every message in the folder is there 3 times. Not worth your time.

Can this add-on find duplicate emails located in two email accounts?
I tried and it seemed not possible, after the try the add-on menu disappeared.

does need an update and bugfix.
the popup window that displays duplciated emails should be full width. there is alot of wasted space on the right hand side that could be used for displaying more info about duplciate emails.
finally there is a bug that with skip special folders unchecked,emails in all mail in gmail are not checked and I get not scanning special folders.
when it works its great, but these issues are highly iritating

This add-on used to work, but does not on 128.6.0esr (Linux)
It appears to go through he motions, but never finds duplicates, even though there are clearly duplicates in the list

TB 128.6 Doesn't work.
Installed and run but says no duplicates found.
Folder is full of duplicates.

Didn't work. It says it is moving to deleted folder forever but the duplicates are still there in the original folder.

It took me a few minutes to figure out that I needed to access the settings to include special folders (such as sent items) and adjust the criteria. This is, however, entirely my bad. Somehow I had expected it in the context menu, but I agree that this is better accessed through settings.

The extension does a good job of finding duplicate emails. There are many comparison criteria. The main drawback for me is the search results field is too narrow (680 pixels). I have 3440 pixels wide, and I can afford to examine the search results table in detail without having to guess the values of cropped cells or using horizontal scrolling. Especially when the number of found groups is several thousand.

It works great except on "special folders", like sent mail. In migrating email to another host some duplicates happened and this add-on would have been perfect to clean this up, if not for this one limitation.
Edit: the author notified me of a setting to toggle this behaviour, so no complaints now!
The extension _does_ work on special folders - if you ask it to, in the options dialog. By default, it skips them, because usually people don't want to check for duplicates with folders like Drafts or Archive where one often has copies of the same messages.

This has the potential to be a great tool, but unfortunately, it does not work with TBird 115. Will this addon be upgraded?

Very useful for pruning my mailbox, and also I'd really appreciate an option (or another add-on) to "show me what's in this folder BUT NOT in that folder" (a variant of what Remove Duplicate Messages does at present). I can do this (slowly) by copying all messages in A to A2 and B to B2, running RDM between A2 and B2, then what remains in A2 and B2 is the result I'm after (can be used for consistency checks or to identify missing messages). A variant of the add-on to do this without copying would be great.
